This is the first time I've used Bartender. I need to update it after
the patch as I am having some issues, but then I had a thought . . .

Does anyone know if when you update this addon all your hotkeys get
saved? I'm wondering if I'll have to rebind all over again, and if
it's worth taking a screenie of my current hotkey setup.

Thanks!

I updated CTmod, which also has additional action bars, and they
came back exactly as they were before the patch.

I suspect the same is true for Bartender.

I've used Bartender for quite a long time and have never had it lose my
keybindings between updates unless the name of the addon changed (for
example, it used to be called Bartender 3 and now it's called Bartender 4).

Updating an addon will not erase your saved settings for that addon. The
code for the addon (which is what gets updated) is stored in a different
folder than the saved settings.

Thanks for the replies, gentlemen! :-)

At first I was confused, because I went to the DL spot on Curse, and
the info said that keybindings wouldn't be saved. Then I realized, as
Mr. Kaye said, that it was only talking about Bartender 3 to Bartender
4, not simply a patch update. I'm obviously not a technical person.

Looking forward to DLing it tonight and getting my MIA micro bar back,
which apparently has been an issue for a lot of people.

Over the years I have used various bar addons and they all saved their
configuration across updates.

The only time I took screenies was before changing from one addon to
another, something I only do if the addon stops being maintained...

Cheers
Urbin, fearing the point with Macaroon might be near :(

Yes, I updated Bartender this weekend, and everything was saved. I was
very glad to see my Micro Menu again.

Figures - the one time I actually stop to consider the consequences,
there are none. :D
