'Twas an EVENT!

It became a Server-wide Horde event... (Kul Tiras-US)
Someone kited a mob (Warlord Mok-something?, a level 45 Elite) into
Orgrimmar, and when they did, something glitched... The mob became
unkillable, stuck at 1% HP, the battle raged (with dozens of Horde
players attacked him) for over 4 HOURS! Everyone went to Org to get
their shots in, and get their weapon skills up, lol. I didn't show up
until 3 hours after it started, they'd already kited him to Thrall,
and neither attacked the other, and after about 30 mins of beating on
him with my Polearm on my hunter I went back to questing.
Someone asked "When will this end?" the answer was "Until a GM wanders
by, or someone reports it a spoils the fun!"
I don't know excactly how long it lasted, I fully expected him to be
up the following morning still, but he was gone...

It used to happen quite a lot but they "tethered" the mobs that you
could do it with. The mobs in the blasted lands that can't be killed
away from their crystal used to show in in Stormwind quite often.

By tethered, you mean the mob with only go a certain distance before
going back to their starting point? I recall someone mentioned that
one of the dragon aspects hanging around in Twilight Grove was kited
into going to Stormwind, a zone and a half away. Wish I could have
seen it, but probably couldn't be done today.

Someone once managed to kite Lord Kazzak all the way from the Blasted
Lands to Stormwind, where he became invulnerable and proceeded to kill
everyone in the city.
