doom3 xbox live update not worky?

Hi,

I have an xbox 360 [about two months old] and doom3 collector's
edition. When I try to connect to xbox live it says 'you are not
connected'. However, after I check xbox live on the xbox home menu it
says it *is connected.

Other games connect ok. Is this a defect of the game, or is it
something I should spend hours and hours trying to debug.
I've surfed and not found anything obvious yet. I'm mainly
interested in just downloading any updates/add ons.
