There was absolutely no need to post a link to this article in this
newsgroup other than to feed your misguided assumption that it somehow
justifies your constant fanboi bashing of Sony and the PlayStation 3.
Let's get one thing straight right off the bat. You are *not* like
this guy. Your criticisms don't come from the same place. You're a
fanboi through and through. None of your nonsense posts are done in
the spirit of gaming or for the benefit of Sony.
You are nothing more than the Xbox 360 fanboi "army's" version of Blig
Merk.
Can you please stop trying to be the monitor of this group? He posted a
link, big fucking deal.
I didn't hit the link he posted till I read your post.
>There was absolutely no need to post a link to this article in this

Ad hominem.
Who says I hate the PS3?
I'm not trying to be anything. Jonah can obviously continue posting
whatever he wants. I'm not trying to stop him, but if I don't like
something he posts or disagree with an opinion he offers, I'll post
that. And you're more than welcome to do the same with regards to my
posts as you just have.
> He posted a link, big fucking deal.
Maybe you don't care, but it annoys me. All he posted was the link -
no attempt to drum up any discussion, no attempt to engage anyone
about the merits of the opinion or offer his own. No, he just posted
this in some attempt to justify all his Sony bashing.
My post annoys you? Well, you did the right thing by posting your
opinion about it.
> I didn't hit the link he posted till I read your post.
And? I'm not interested in stopping people from reading that article.
It's a great article.
You clearly don't understand what that term means. Your post had
nothing to do with presenting some sort of claim or argument and had
everything to do with justifying your Sony and PS3 bashing.
An ad hominem argument would be if you and I were debating which
system was performing better and when you pulled some data that showed
the Xbox 360's higher sales, I responded by pointing out your fanboism
instead of refuting the actual data.
In fact, I'm not bashing the article in any way, shape or form. I
actually liked it and agree with many of the author's positions.
> Who says I hate the PS3?
You do. All one has to do is go over all the posts you've made in the
past 3 years. Note that the author of the article doesn't go off on
why the PlayStation 3 sucks and in fact elucidates several times how
much he likes the system and his opinion that it's the best current
generation system.
You, on the other hand, attack Sony, the PlayStation 3, the software,
the network, etc. and so forth every chance you get. I can count on
one hand the number of times you've had anything positive to say about
the PlayStation 3 and I'd have plenty of fingers left over.
And I quote:
I have earned myself a reputation as a "Sony basher" and a "PS3 hater" by
people who clearly do not know the difference between the two. Contrary to
popular belief, I do not hate the PlayStation 3. In fact, I love it, and at
the time of writing, it is my favorite current-generation console. This
could change in the future, as my favorite system is decided by what games
are appealing to me at any given moment, not by which one my Mommy and Daddy
just happened to get me for Christmas. Right now, the PS3 is top of my
chart.
However, it is true that I bash Sony, frequently and without mercy. This is
because I do love the PS3, and all I see is a company squandering a great
piece of technology and mindlessly posturing instead of taking the time to
examine its own faults. Sony is acting like it's king of the hill, like it's
the industry leader, when it's currently holding third place.
I'm a Sony basher, but it's only because I don't hate the PS3, not because I
do. The simple fact of the matter is this: Sony needs to STFU, because the
constantly flapping mouths of the platform holder's PR department is the
single biggest problem the PlayStation 3 has.
Wrong. I read every last word of the article. How else would I have
been able to determine that I *liked* the article?
> You're using an ad hominem
> attack on me that he deals with.
Wrong again unless you can clearly elucidate how you are like this
person in any way, shape or form.
That *he* gets called a Sony basher and a PS3 hater has no bearing on
what you get called. Hell, he doesn't even mention in the article that
he "bashes" the PS3 although he mentions quite often that he
criticizes Sony for all their mistakes.
Note that he specifically states that he bashes *SONY* because he
doesn't hate the *PS3.*
I have no problem with people who criticize Sony and/or Microsoft for
mistakes they made. You, however, do not fall into this category. You,
like Blig does with Microsoft and the Xbox 360, go out of your way to
constantly post negative comments about Sony, the PlayStation 3, the
PlayStation 3 software library, the PlayStation Network, Home, and
anything else associated with the console.
Further, his article is not about ad hominem attacks. An accusation of
being a "Sony hater" or a "PS3 hater" is not an ad hominem attack. An
argument that some particular statement made is not true solely on the
basis that the person making the statement may be a "Sony hater" or a
"PS3 hater" *is* an ad hominem attack.
For instance, if I call my friend a "Yankees hater" because he loves
the Red Sox and is constantly ragging on the Yankees, that is not an
ad hominem attack, but if I tell him that his prediction that the Red
Sox having a good chance of winning the AL East this season is
bullshit because "it's just another example of your goddamn Yankees
hating," *that* is an ad hominem attack.
And, yes, you are a PlayStation 3 hater through and through. You
constantly rag on it. You constantly laugh about how sales are down.
You constantly talk about how this or that aspect of the PlayStation 3
sucks. You constantly say this game sucks, that game sucks.
You even go out of your way to post articles about how some other part
of Sony is doing badly here in this Xbox newsgroup.
Even worse, you're always ready with some smug <laugh> or emoticon,
some laugh or cackle about how Sony failed at this or the PS3 sucks at
that. I'll bet you that the author of the article doesn't do that.
If you're not a Sony hater and you're not a PlayStation 3 hater, you
sure do a damn good job at acting like one.
Your lack of logic is amazing. The content of the article and its
author's explanation regarding why he says what he says has ZERO
bearing on your track record.
Name any positive article you've written about Sony. In fact, name a
single PS3 game you've played, and provide a semi-detailed review of
it that indicates you've actually played it, and given it a chance.
Then we'll talk.
Go ahead- show us you're not a fanboy. In the meantime, don't use
words like "ad hominem" that you clearly have no understanding of.
What I was trying to say was that a lot of people just ignore Jonah, and
wouldn't even read his posts if people didn't respond to him. I know he
is very biased so I mostly just ignore him like I do most of the other
clearly
biased people in these groups.
Fair enough. I was probably being a little facetious in my response as
well since part of the reason I like to rip on Jonah is because it's
fun. Ultimately, this is entertaining for me. It passes my down time
or my break time at work. Even when I'm annoyed, even when I'm going
off on someone, it's still enjoyable to a degree to me. I would much
rather not ignore morons like Jonah and Blig because that would be
boring, and when this starts getting boring to me, I'll probably just
stop doing it altogether.
Yeah instead of commenting on what's posted he offers spelling
corrections. lol
I suppose there's something to be said about a "journalist" who knows
proper spelling and grammar.
Well I am sceptical ,lol
