GC 2006: Assassin's Creed Demo Sneaking Out
Will PS3 owners get a chance to steal a look at Ubisoft's action game?

August 24, 2006 - Our interest was piqued by reports at 1UP.comof an
unnamed Ubisoft Montreal Developer who said that upcoming PlayStation 3
exclusive Assassin's Creed will have a demo before it hits stores. IGN
contacted UbiSoft representative who was able to confirm that they do
intend to release a demo for the game before the scheduled March 2007
release.

Assassin's Creed is an action-adventure title set in the Holy Land
during the Third Crusade. Some would describe it as part Prince of
Persia and part Splinter Cell, which isn't surprising since it is being
developed by the studio that gave life to those series. This hot new IP
has been rumored to be straying to Xbox 360 and PC as well, but so far
remains true and faithful to PS3. Sony has previously stated that PS3
will provide downloadable content and online services will be free.

Yeah, in 2008 or 2009, you should be able to download the downgraded
graphics, choppy frame rate, ruined port version for the xflop
3-shitty. Whoopy-doo!

Is this news? Game gets demo "shocker"? Also, very interesting wording
regarding online. "DLC" and "online services" free. What exactly does
that mean? Does this mean, extra levels, picture packs etc. are actually
free? Or are they available at a cost but you wont need a subscription
online account to access them? Why have Sony refused to come out and say
that online multiplayer will be free for games?

Remember: the XBox 360 has "Achievements" -- Sony's ripoff system has
"ENTITLEMENTS". lol

I think whoever came up with that one didn't learn English as their
primary language.

If I wanted to rip off Microsoft I would have called them
"Accomplishments".

Wait, that wasn't a joke? They really are calling it "Entitlements"?!!

I just thought Jonah was being funny, as if PS3 owners were "entitled"
to their achievments or something.

If that's seriously the name, the Sony is even further out of touch
than I imagined!!

Keep in mind this is from the same company that calls wireless multiplayer
"Ad Hoc Mode" and online play "Infrastructure Mode."
