That just clinched it for me. Picking one up August 22nd.
On a side note, don't you love all the stupid asses that were saying that
the same thing could be done on the 360? I wonder what type of person gets
off on putting out misinformation so people can destroy their property. A
dick.
Isnt this common knowledge by now? I did this two weeks after i got mine.
Which was only a week after launch. Upgraded to a 160GB. (i think it was
the biggest at the time, actually no, it wasnt the biggest, but it was the
biggest at the RPMs that i wanted)
Explain the how the whole RPM thing affects things for me please. I know
what RPM's are, I just want to know the rationale behind your decision.
"revolutions per minute"
the speed at which information can be read off of the hard drive
Thanks. That answers the question about RPM's (that I didn't have), I
wanted to know if larger drives than the 160GB had less RPM's or something.
Or even how many RPM's does the PS3 HDD run at.
The higher RPM drives were smaller in capacity... i guess it came off wrong
in the previous post. I didnt mean that lower RPMs was better. lol
the drive in the PS3 runs at 5,400.
I upgraded to the same but at 160GB. The 7,200rpm drives were smaller in
size.
Just ran upon this article that explains the dilema that i had. Enjoy!

This delayed post bullshit is really beginning to piss me off. It keeps
showing me messages that i've already read and replied to... wtf?!?!
I've been having this kind of problem for some time. I have the same
posts re-appearing to be read again. I think it may be software
related, but so far I've just put up with it as I haven't taken enough
time out to find any free newsreader software replacement for Gravity.
I see you use OE which I'm not really keen on using.

only out of convenience, as i'm not as knowledgeable about the whole
newsreader bit. It gets me by. But i'm glad it's not just me having issues.
