THE NINTENDO 64 IS ACTUALLY MORE POWERFUL BECAUSE THE MAIN PROCESSOR FOR THE
XBOX BELIEVE IT OR NOT IS ONLY 16 BIT. THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE RELEASE THE
GAMECUBE AND SHOULD HAVE INSTEAD CONCENTRATED ON THE NINTENDO 64 - IT WOULD
HAVE WON THE SYSTEM WARS BECAUSE OF IT'S HEAD START. BUT NOW NINTENDO HAS TO
START AT SQUARE 1 WITH THE GAMECUBE.

DROP THE GAMECUBE AND BRING BACK THE N64 FULL FORCE, IT'S WHAT GAMERS REALLY
WANT.

There's funny trolls, clever trolls, infuriating trolls...sadly, you
are none of the above. You are simply boring and stupid.
I've fed the troll, folks -- no need to feed anymore. Please
move on.

LOOK just because you HATE the N-64 don't come here and speak against it. If
you truly loved the N64 you would agree with me and try to bring it back. It
should be the dominating system. There was no need to discontinue the N64. They
need to bring it back folks, pure and simple.

Actually, I love the N64. Have three of them, in fact. I "come here
and speak" often, helping others and asking questions myself. That
does *not* equate to thinking that it is "JUST AS POWERFUL AS
THE X-BOX" -- something only a moron or boring troll would claim.
Reply or do not reply -- either way I'm done with this thread.

I don't know where you're posting from BGG, but if you lived up here you

Humanitarian in me.... must.... feed... the trolls....

There is a big difference between processor power and system power. Key
point: the bits of a processor are not an indication of how powerful it is.
Key point: even if the N64 processor were more powerful than the Xbox
processor, there is a lot more to the systems that make the Xbox much more
powerful.

Key question: why did I feed this?

All I'm saying is that the N64 still had a HELLA amount of life in it, and it
could have held it's own against the X-BOX until the "next gen" came along. And
Gamecube ain't it./

only psychologically speaking, people would have stopped buying games
for it. N64 would have been seen as old and tired, while xbox was new
and cool.

besides, by the time Conker's Bad Fur Day came out, the N64 was pushing
its limits graphically. and I expect many can see the difference between
Halo and Conker.

I love the N64 because it CONTINUES IN THE TRADITION OF THE JAGUAR: 64 bits of
raw unadulterated power, and the superior cartridge format, and the superior
solid state circutry format (IE: THE N64 WILL LAST FOREVER BECAUSE THERE NO
MOVING PARTS.)

Thank you for your understanding.

"Continuing in the tradition of the Jaguar" is not something heard often... at
least with pride. Even Atari Jaguar collectors admit to the poor success of
the Jaguar, not necessarily because of technology, but the whole package of
marketing, sales distribution, games, controllers, etc.

I have my little N64 collection of 113 games and will always keep it. The kids
still play the top titles like Mario 64, Tennis, Kart, etc. almost every day.
I've recently started replaying Zelda:OOT. However, when I see the dazzling
capabilities of the GameCube with negligible load times, and truly wish
Nintendo had not kept introducing newer and newer cartridge based systems that
were never backward compatible.

Without the continued backwards compatibility of each GameBoy generation,
Nintendo would have struggled to keep the handheld market locked up. For Play
Station owners, getting a PS2 was a no-brainer.

They should have put a cartridge slot in the Gamecube to play N64 games please.

All you need to say is that Perfect Dark is about the best it gets for the
N64. And Halo, I'm sad to say, beats the pants off of Perfect Dark. (I still
prefer Perfect Dark, but I can recognize that Halo is simply a better game.)

Now, if only they could get back to making a SERIOUS 007-style shooter that
involves humans, spying, and such... Aliens just aren't much fun to me.

The N64 will last only slightly longer than the NES only because the
technology is only a few years more developed. It has already expired, like
the NES, and it will only survive for as long as you take care of your
machine. Backwards compatibility isn't going to happen, and once your
machine gives out, it will be nearly impossible to replace it.

And, um, continuing in the tradition of the Jaguar is not something I'd brag
about.

(And, by the way, the SNES games were better than the N64 games, except
Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.)
