Hello VGA-Planet Players and Hosts,

I used to play Planets on my Win XP 32 with Tims Client Version 3.5
(registered).

Now I changed my operating system, due to a hardwareupdate, to Vista
Business 64. I am no longer able to install the original VGA Planets 3.5
Client. When trying to use the install file, I was told that this
version of the setup file is not compatible with my operating system.

Do you have any idea, how to get my old clientsoftware working with Vista64?

Just for my information, do you guys got the client running under
Vista32 or Vista64?

Not really .. but my first try would be to install winplan at first at
an other no vista system. Then copy the directory to an USB stick or
CD .. the windows systemfiles can be found at
http://www.rcworld.de/vgap/filedb/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=61
copy these also to your usb stick (winplan main dir)

I do not know if winplan run from a USB stick .. if not, copy it to
your vista system and try if it will run.

Regards, Harry

Winplan only runs on a 32bit OS.

You may want to install XP on that PC in another partition as a second
OS or under a Virtual PC setup within Vista.

Hello Carsten,

I was not able to get Winplan running on Vista 64.

I solved the problem by installing a virtual machine (Sun) on Vista . There
I installed Win-XP. Now I'm able to also install all other programms I
missed under Vista, like VPA, GPA or EchoView.

Hope that helps
