Its nearly identical to vpl 3.x, and Tim accepts it ^^
Atm its in Open Beta, but its not realy a beta anymore, imo
You should try it.
"Nearly identical to VPL 3.x", that would be Stars! 2.x as well. You
should have tried selling a "nearly identical" game to VPLers back in
1997 for a good flame-war.
A prototype of *real* VPL as a browser game is here:
<http://planetscentral.com/play/game.cgi>
*Real* VPL as in "works with HOST or PHost, works with standard RST
files, ...". In a few days, you'll be able to upload and play with your
own result files.

Just take a look at it, before you write anything :P
It's not even close to Stars!, its more like 99% like THost and the
missing 1% (i don't know if the vcr results are 100% like the old
ones) will come aswell. And the interface looks quiet nice. The
playerbase is realy high, but since many new players try it, there are
some people who get inactive/leave a game.
Sure I took a look at it. Its impressive stats also include three games
I accidentally created due to a disagreement between it and my browser.

And that's the point which I don't understand. Why does it have to be an
incomplete re-implementation instead of a 100% solution? The reason I'm
making PCC2 Web is to prove that a 100% solution can be done (and to
learn AJAX).

It looks nice, but when you try to use it, it gives you flashbacks to
1992. Come on, a ship build screen where I have to build all parts
manually, are you kidding?
