I recently found a crystal ball on a ettin, what does it do?
Is it only for decoration, or can you actually use it for something?

As far as I can tell absolutely nothing! But its looks cool as decoration
for your house if you like!

Has several uses. One you can cast ito for spell practice. Second, you can
use it certain areas to see what has been spoken there previously.

How?
1. what spells do I cast on it?
2. how do I activate it to see what has been spoken previously and what areas
are 'certain areas'?

Thanks :)

tis true! one of the dungeons has a crystal ball that is stuck there
(permanent) you can click on it and occasionally it repeats what was said in
the immediate area recently... (Despise is the dungeon) although this was
before the "structuring" of the dungeon themes...
i personally never saw them but they did make it into the hint book...
perhaps someone else can verify it that they (the crystal balls) made it
past the beta?

Yep, I've seen the crystal ball in Despise. Haven't gotten anything
out of it anytime I've been by it though. Nice for the decor of the
place though, it is a rather dreary looking dungeon. Maybe a throw
rug and some curtains...........

no idea, but even if the fool crystal ball in Despise did survive, who
cares? I mean, why would anyone go to a dungeon on the vague hope that they
could hear what someone else said recently <G> would be nice to know what
happened to the idea in the process, though, I agree
