Last week I was unable to report the Chesapeake murder tally since the bounty
boards weren't working on that shard. This week, Chessy is included in the
Top 40 list so this week's list isn't directly comparable to last week's.
Four Chessy PKs made the Top 40 including ChupaCABRA, the new #2 PK in all of
UO. Two top 10 members, Dantrag II and Absolute Zero, came out of nowhere to
join the list. This may have been due to the fact that only the top 20
murderers *by bounty* are listed on the in-game bulletin boards. I suspect
that both these gentlemen had low bounties but high murder counts until this
week when their bounties increased enough to put them on the boards.

The Busy Beaver Award goes to The Colombian of the Sonoma shard who racked up
an additional 115 reported murders last week. The runner up in this category
goes to BigDog, also of Sonoma.

In Memoriam
The following PKs dropped off the bounty boards entirely and presumably are
dead:
Tinkle - 517 kills
Stile - 470 kills
Dead Man Walking - 350 kills
DaMan - 278 kills
Sephrenia - 253 kills
VitaminX - 235 kills
Candy Stripper - 231 kills

I'm introducing the shard total rankings this week for the top 20 PKs from
each shard. The team award goes to Team Lake Superior which has a total of
6,202 confirmed kills. Nappie Valley brings up the rear.

Lake Superior 6,202
Atlantic 5,118
Chesapeake 4,199
Catskills 3,652
Baja 3,313
Pacific 3,102
Sonoma 2,932

If you going to make a pk list make one with well pk's Chupa is a KoC tinker
trapped but he left the game. Alot of those names you list are newbie pk;s who
kill their own buds. Never pay attention to the boards, that's like reading the
sports sections for world news.

It's thick twats like you and your kind that put many more people off
playing this game.

If you want to PK play Quake or Half Life, better still join the army ( no
that would mean you have to face real people and you'd shit yourself).

Unfortunately the bounty boards are the only source of pk information.

hey smart guy, If you didn't notice he is posting a list of the PK's. Maybe
you should take reading comp. lessons so you can understand what a post is
about. He is posting a list of the highest ranking pk's on the bounty boards
of shard so we all know who is out and about right now.

Next time you decide to flame, try and flame a post that needs it.

John,

UO is the game we play, and tho I don't PK, I feel that if anything there
should be MORE pks. It's you who are unhappy with the game, so maybe you
should leave.

The original poster put some time and effort into a ranking system that he
(and it turns out many others) find interesting. Don't flame him for
that... commend him for taking the time to evaluate that part of the game.

Strange, I was in the U.S. army for a few years (even went to a war) and I
didn't get to PK at all. I guess things have changed.

Well young feller,

Us old geezers like to play too. When I'm not playing UO, I'm playing
doctor... My guildies are doctors, stockbrokers, and one swim coach. It IS
possible to have many birthdays (well an average of 30 or so at least) and
still not be OLD.

PKing is part of the game. Sure, there are assholes who PK, but then again,
there are people like me who guard your corpse until you get back. Most PKs
aren't jerks, but most of the more active ones are. Saying all PKs are
jerks is like saying all people who watch South Park are kids, or that all
people who read sci-fi novels are Star Trek convention going geeks. Don't
apply stereotypes - it's a sign of idiocy.

I had a friend who joined the army. Quit because "I didn't want to take

Oh, yeah and it's thick twats like CNN and their kind that put many more
people off RL for reporting news about murders and wars.

If you want to flame go to alt.flame, better still leave usenet (or

The following PKs from LS, I know personally are all legitimate out
there killing and risking stat-loss:

3 Account Blocked
4 Susie RedRum
12 Tamara
15 Entering Britain
27 Needlenose
33 GOBBU
36 Jarek

In fact the only one I can't recall running in to is Blink. So, at
least for LS your comment is totally inaccurate. In fact, there are a
TON of other PKs on LS who have as many murder counts on the list ...
but are off due to a recent death. In fact, most of the people I
listed above have been on and off the board multiple times.

Are you serious? GOBBU hides out in dungeons with a pile of blue's
pimping for him. He attacks the weak with the old Pk hello of "corp
por corp por corp por corp por corp por" I've never seen anyone have 3
in the air at a time before him. I have no idea what he's doing but I
don't think he counts as risking stat-loss.

Well, it's like this: I hate pks, it sucks getting pked. ok so they are
part of the game, they make it more fun, I agree, but I still hate getting
pked. I later found some pks andf we had a nice ol chat, theynare actually
really nice people. Try it, talk to them, in ghost form f ya must. A pk is
for life, not just for death...

As far as I'm concerned these (and other) jerks are ruining the
game. Many times, you can't interact with people that you don't
already know, because they are afraid you'll kill them, rob them or
just be a jerk. I'd like to make friends here and work with others.
PKs make this much more difficult than it should be.

That's actually pretty weak. If you have a large enough group of your
own, you can easily heal whatever damage GOBBU can dish out .. and
then preceed to cherry pick GOBBU or the blues who try to heal him. I
find that while all the blue/greys in such a group know to heal the
red ... they often will ignore the health of another blue/grey.

But still you confirmed that he is out there killing and not staying
in his house killing his friends.

But nevertheless most of the PKs on the LS board do take risks, and
have been on and off because they have made mistakes or gotten too
cocky and died. They are not all fakes like the person I responded to
implied.

My question relates to this topic.
How does one go about pking? It's not like you can wait for someone to
walk up to you then corp por them to death. (if there smart) and even when
i'm out in the wilderness if someone gets too close or starts making me
nervous i recall out. I've been pk'd yes,but not often,mabey because i
don't venture out into the dungeons. i'd have to honestly say 90%+ of all
the times i was pk'd was due to me losing connection or freezing up due to
lag. So my question stands. How does one pk? It's more a matter of skill
then just blasting someone. Yes you can find easy targets sometimes but more
often then not people will be aware and even fight back. I guess if you have
macroed to 100 str and toss corp pors at them then finish with your hally
your all set. But what if someone sees you attacking and drops a paralyze on
you, then poison then a curse and proceedes to hand you your red ass? I'm
asking people who have been pk'd some interesting ways and some pk's
themselves how they've done it. The best i was pk'd was coming down the
road from yew to brit before the tunnel. I was surrounded and hit with a
paralyze, then the hallys circled me and attacked while the archers plucked
me,was a 6 person effort but i was impressed. Dead but impressed,luckily i
didn't lose anything of value.
So how do you pk,it's not like you can just attack anyone you see. There
are alot of people out there cautious and many who can handle themselves
fine.
Drayfitt
p.s. If any pk's would like to send me links to sites on how to become and
be a successful pk or would like to teach me(not just pk me but teach me)
then email me at Drayfitt at earthlink.net

My point was he won't be there until he gets a report of a loner or
duo in a dungeon. I've grown to recognize his blue pimps and split
when I see them. I just don't see him as a risk taker.
Most of the PK's I see are just macroing in their houses. I'm a big
fan of the area affect spells...

Same way you win any battle:

1) Hit with massive force;
2) Use the element of surprise;
3) Hit when your opponent is weak or occupied;
4) Retreat fast if things go bad;
5) Have backup healers;
6) Use advance scouting and intelligence;
7) Never return to the scene of the crime;
8) Don't be predictable, and don't leave a trail.

For instance, if your out in the forest fighting a troll, and your
down to 1/2 health and four mages pop on your screen and hit you with
precast ebolts .... most likely you're dead and there is nothing you
can do about it.
