Didn't they use to keep a log of conversations in the same screen as the

Crystal balls are used to show the last 5 lines spoken. They do not all
work though.

You can use it as target for the offensive spells.

Actually crystal balls can be quit usefull to those practicing magery. You
can set them on the ground in front of you and cast offensive spells into
them. The spells get absorbed and your magery goes higher. No PC, or
animals, or monsters needed.

Why not just target yourself? You build magery and resist at the same
time... Noto query pops up if you're good, but ignore it. It lies.

Well hey I've done the exact same thing on various objects: books, boxes,
whatever. Works just as fine as crystal balls.
