Weird black screen

OK, so I launch TA (after installing it on a Win98 box)... and I get a black
screen with an unreadable dialog box, I can hit ok and it exits.

Any ideas?
I have TA and CC installed.
I don't have a soundcard in this thing.

When the unreadable error box pops in, press PrntScrn.
Then, paste it under MS Paint or whatever image apps.
The box will then be readable.
Its message should help finding what's the issue.

It turned out to be a sound driver (or lack thereof) issue.
Apparently, TA didn't like VMWare...
