I think that Angelina Jolie is the best Lara Croft...
Why would Angelina Jolie not make a new Tomb Raider film...?

bye, DUDI ;-)

She's certainly very good at it.

It's the studio not her that's making the descision. She's
said she'd like to do another one.

They are making another Tomb Raider movie? Hope they learn from their
mistakes - the second movie could have been better - much better. And I
agree - Angy did an excellent job as Lara.

I heard she was too busy with her growing family, and they are
recruiting Megan Fox to replace her.

Maybe so...I mean...being known as the next "Angelina Jolie" aint such a bad
thing. It certainly would hold more potential career weight than the next
"Lara Croft"...

I think she did too. She sure got the Lara attitude across. But don't
forget, the announcement that AJ would be Lara in the first movie is why
Wombraider ran pell mell from the group screaming "Oscar! Oscar!" at the
top of his lungs! :-D That's the last anyone has seen of poor WR.

There's absolutely no reason for anyone or any studio to choose a
different Lara Croft. Angelina has proved herself as the best, and I
don't see how any change in that arrangement could be a change for the
better. She has absolute dedication to the role. She's the most
skilled actress. She really gets the core of the Lara Croft character,
and it shows. She makes Lara real. And physically, Angelina is the
most beautiful female on Earth. What more could anyone want?

A cheaper actress? A younger actress? An actress who will toe the line
on what the movie studio wants?

A complete story reboot? (When I first heard the rumour about the new
movie -- "they" were saying that it would include a complete rewrite of
Lara's background (make her younger, American, more relevant to today's
audience, American, did I mention - American?))

Who owns Eidos now?

THAT is audaciously pugnatious rubbish!!!! So what will they do now? Turn
the game into a pro tournament sport title? oh wait, they already did that.
I think that story reboot is a rotten thing.

somebody who is a bit athletic? wobbly AJ is ruining the movies.
given that I don't really care what a good actress she is, she shouldn't
be in TR movies...

see Chocolate http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1183252/ now that's the
actress that could play Lara, unfortunately she doesn't look like lara...

It's possible they could create a good Tomb Raider movie with an
Americanized heroine... but it wouldn't really be Lara.

It'd be like an Americanized Dr. Who or James Bond. Some essential
'Lara-ness' would be missing.

Hey, how about someone who looks a little bit like Lara, definitely CAN DO
the moves and stunts herself (she's a professional gymnast!), and doesn't
have to be taught or coached with the English Accent. She IS a bit busy at
the moment, playing the role of Lara Spokesperson. Alison Carroll. She has
a 40 gigawatt smile, BIG beautiful eyes, lovely shape (THIS girl doesn't
need 'enhancements'!) and is bursting with energy. And the cutest ears! :D
Rhona is older than Angelina. Though she IS a very capable and stunning
actress herself. But the role is a young person role. Give a young woman a
break, see if she truly has the screen presence to sell us Lara. To do
the things she IS doing now, she has to follow a Directors instruction.
Seems she does this well. From where Alison is at with things now, it is a
sidestep to film work. So, I'd like to see Alison tapped for the role. At
least an audition!

ROFL! I kinda enjoyed the films. They were pretty good adventures in
their own right, even if no thought is given to Lady Croft.

But watching Alison perform, now that's enjoyment! :D

yeah, I liked the movies, they were not amazingly TR-like but not
completely off either. Wonder whether there are any gymnastics videos of
Alison around... youtube seems to have only interviews etc. (didn't
search much though)...

I think that there is a lot of great talent that can portray Lara Croft such
as Gina Torres, Michelle Wu, Kathryn Morris, to name a few.
