Decided to play AOD (on pc) again only to find that it takes up to 5 mins
to start up/load. Could it be the new NVidia GeForce 210 graphics card I
installed a while back? But I can play Legend,Anniversary and Underworld
without a problem. What am I missing ???????

another hint that the game was not meant to be played :-) Sorry, no
idea how to make it work better, the game is old and was not really
finished in the first place so I guess new Direct X does not agree with
it...

Hey, Bob. I'm not sure what's going on there, but I do have a couple
of leads that might help. First, once it does load, does the game run
OK? Eidos has some suggestions for slow/choppy performance on its
support site: http://support.eidosinteractive.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=385.
I don't know if this will improve load times but maybe worth a try.

Also, are you running Windows XP, Vista or 7? If Vista/7, then you may
want to try one of the TR multi-patches from
http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/technical-support/index.html.

Wish I had more. Maybe try posting on some of the TR tech forums. I'd
try Eidos (http://forums.eidosgames.com/forumdisplay.php?f=36) and TRF
(http://www.tombraiderforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15) first since
they're probably the most popular.

Good luck and raid on!

Regards, Stella

Thanks Stella. Operating system is XP with all updates and DX 9c. The game
runs fine once it boots up, even the glitchy bits.I have played it before
using a NVidia GeForce 4800 but had to upgrade to play Underworld. Audio
runs in background but blank screen.Hit "Esc"but nothing, 5mins later I get
the main menu then all is fine. So all I do is start game, go and have a
coffee, come back and spend the next hour or so playing without a
problem.Bloody pain in the butt.Just thought there might be a quick fix.
Thanks again, and I always "raid on".
Bob
