i didn't expect much more than this out of underworld. it was
underwhelming with a replayability factor of zero. if they continue on
this downhill path, tombraider is as good as dead.

another TR movie would be fun but, without AJ, pointless. once you
identify a lead and an actor you can't replace them without dramatic
overhauls to characters and storyline. basically, remove lara from the
movies.

One can only hope that A.J. will not let her fans down.

there's some downloadable content for xbox, wonder if it will ever
make it to PC.

also wonder what will the new owner do (Square Enix bought Eidos),

Oh I dunno, you've seen AoD, right? In light of that, they can do worse.

LOL! I hated the startup sequence for the game and the exit sequence.
You cannot simply start and quit. You gotta do each twice.

The controls were clumsy, and if you didn't know that pressing
the <end> key on a PC was how to switch targets, than Kurtis
versus bug Boaz would have been tough. The controls were
clumsy because the turn movements seemed to be rounded off to
some multiple of degrees, and since tiny rotations couldn't
be done, you ended up swerving Lara side to side while moving
to follow some paths. Most of the time the clumsy controls
weren't an issue and I recently replayed the game without
much issue.

Note also that AOD outsold TRA, but that could be due to a
general loss of interest in games since late 2006.

Cool.

AoD was very much anticipated by this community. That being mostly old hard
core Tombies I'd think. SO EIDOS is desperately trying to broaden their
reach and blundered horribly in pushing the game to the "Pro Tournament
Class" of game. It lacks much to compete in that category, and they DID
take the game somewhat out of our realm with TRL. I play at TRA and TRU
occasionally still.
In the face of a game like CRYSIS, these new TR's are totally rinky dink
crap ass wannabe's. And it isn't so much that I'm playing CRYSIS, as I'm
just not much in a gaming mood any more. I use CRYSIS Sandbox2 editor to
create high res scenery and background images for my 3D CG stuff. $30 for
CRYSIS as opposed to $800.00 for Vue which generates very similar scenes,
but far slower to build scenes and horrendously longer to render. eon
Software just loved finding this tidbit in their forums! LOL!
