Thief Gold on Windows 8

Using this all-in-one patch

it's easy to get Thief Gold running on Windows 8. I did run into just a
couple of gotchas, that are easy to fix.

I installed from the original cds, so I'm not certain how DDs from Gog.com
or gamersgate.com (all three games are on sale there this weekend) will
operate, but it should be similar.

1) Insert the first cd and cancel out of any autoplay. Go the Metro tile
screen, type 'run', click on the Run search result, and type the following
into the run box:
d:\setup.exe -lgntforce
(Replace 'd' with your optical drive)
2) The game should install normally, without any error messages.
3) Run the all-in-one patch from above.
4) If you have a creative soundcard installed, you can get EAX in the game
working by configuring Creative Alchemy to point to the install directory.
The creative software autoupdate should offer to install Alchemy (I have an
old x-fi xtremegamer pci card), and it should be a tile on the Metro
display.
