settings. Have your Sims conquer the tasks to win fame in their
neighborhood and trade your challenges throughout the online
community.

Take your Sims to exotic destinations around the world. Travel to
tropical beaches, quaint European villages, and mountain resorts. Meet
the locals, learn their languages and master new customs to build your
sim into a savvy world traveler.

Plant a little backyard garden or build the world’s greatest farm.

I think that was pretty much everybodys reaction LOL

It seems to me that they're DEFINATELY heading in a pet/farming
direction! I think farming would also really jive with OFB.

It would indeed be cool to be able to sell your own vegetables and dairy
products. Also some questions hinted at weather and seasons!

Seasons and weather would be really awesome. Making objects appear
"snowy" would be very difficult and potentially taxing on the
computer.

Heck, if they would just give us the choice of having a snowy
neighborhood terrain...when we wanted it....I would be happy. Also snowy
looking roofs.

There was a long thread at the BBS about this. The original poster was
upset that Maxis would even think of having torture and death in the
game. LOL
I used to *torture and kill* my Sims all the time in Sims1. LOL

The problem would be that you would have to change these things
manually. Frankly I don't understand why Xmas didn't come with a snowy
terrain.

If it were to be automatic, it would only work on Maxis premade SC4
terrains and roofs etc. it wouldnt work for any custom stuff. Either
that or they would have to add some heavy graphical effects, like snow
particles, which would just kill your CPU if it was gonna look half
way decent. Basically, they should have thought about it a long time
ago, when the game first came out. What they SHOULD do is add new
neighbourhoods in a new EP, say a vacation EP, with a snowy hood, a
summer beachy hood etc. and have textured particle snow (which is
easy) and give players the ability to add those effects and terrains
to their neighbourhoods. Seasons wouldn't actually change, they would
remain the same.. unless the player did the work themselves.

I have now killed and tortured Jack Thompson eight times over. There was a
rather fetching Jack sim for offer at MTS2.

Best wishes

Actually changing the terrain in your hood is relatively easy - you can
already change it from grassy to desert to concrete to dirt - it's just a
texture laid over the ground shape. There were quite a lot of snow versions
of the dirt terrain available at mts2 before Christmas. It worked fine with
my custom terrain. I'd like the weather too (and especially changing
seasons) and remember, it's partly in there already because it was intended
to have weather with the original game and much of the programming is still
there. With a mod, you can still get it to rain (Carrigon did this over at
Various Simmers though I don't know if it works with Nightlife or not).
Snowy roofs are difficult for some reason - to do with the way the texture
is lit, I think, but I'm sure Maxis could fix that.

Best wishes
maxon
