Hi,
I know this question came up a few days ago, but what can I view the floor
and wall files with (Blueprint, Homecrafter...?).
I have nearly two thousand files and I'd like to clean up my Maxis folder...

HomeCrafter was about the only thing you could view walls with. For ease of
use, copy your wall files over to the HomeCrafter directory. I actually cut
and paste them there and delete the ones I don't use. When I'm done, I move
the folder back to The Sims.

There is a new release of T-Mog, which also says that you can view/delete
walls, floors, and objects. I'vejust downloaded it, but have not tried it
yet.

Hi Nanci,

TMog doesn't allow viewing of wll or flr files. I'm releasing a utility
called Simplorer (well, the name is actually up in the air right now) that
will allow you to view wll, flr, iff and spr files.

Hi Bil,

Thanks for the information. I guess I confused the two programs. I found
out about Simplorer the same day as the new TMog. Hope that will be easier
to use than Homecrafter!

I just find Homecrrafter a pain in the ass. Personally I would like
something that has a browse feature rather then opening each wallpaper or
floor, especially now that most of us with LL have humdreds of wallpapers.
My main gripe with Homecrafter is that it doesn't default open to the
GameData folder. So I cut and paste the walls and floors into the
HomeCrafter folder. When I open one I don't want, I right mouse click to
delete it from the window. A delete feature would be nice. And then when
I'm done I cut and paste the folders back to where they belong.

I'll admit Gareth, I'm getting lazy. Why can't I just select from the
program where the default folders are. Yes, I know, browsing wallpapers and
floors was not what HomeCrafter was intended for. But I know that a lot of
people are using it to browse files and not import new ones.

Oh I see. Sorry I sort of missed that this thread was about viewing not
importing. I agree it is a pain that it always jumps back to the directory
where homecrafter is.

The new Simplorer is much better to view walls, floors and objects
(http://www.simfreaks.com/blueprint/index.html) since the default directory
is TheSims. The object viewing isn't the best, but that could be the fact
that they are T-moged objects. Some of the better ones are just fine in the
preview. Others are only partial thumbnails, and these are the ones that
generally don't show thumbnails in the game buy mode as well.

Plus which, all of the paintings I've created in Art Studio show up as
just plain wood tiles...sigh

You're looking at the back of the painting. It's because the index number of
paintings is reversed. The front is 1 and the back is 0. Just change the
dropdown value in the index list and you can see the front of the painting.
You might have to resize the main window a touch, I forgot to put in a
refresh command to redraw the image but it works.

What is the best size for a wallpaper as in pixels wide and high on
a BMP image for the least amount of stretching to fit the wall shape?
