Dragonwold file and my downloads...opened game to the new neighborhood,
Desiderata...love the terrain map for it! Hate the houses. Everything
looks like sububia moderno..yech...so opened family called
Contrary....icky decorating of house...just looked around and couldn't
stand it, so got out and explored the contents folders. Have no idea
where the new terrain flattening tool is. It doesn't seem to be in the
neighborhood items file anywhere and wasn't in the ltos bin that I could
tell. Maybe it's built into the system and when you place a lot it just
self corrects automatically? I can't read the stupid EA brochure since
it's ant type with no contrast black on grey (they think everyone who
plays the game can see at 20/20????) No hitches or anything. SOOOOOO....
I got out of there since I really didn;'t want to play anything but mine
own game and started putting copies of Dragonwold and my downloads,
minus the hack file in. Took a bit longer to open up but that went fine.
First snag. Camera mod does not work...yuck...hit edge of terrain too
hard and long and blue screen...vid card complaining! (GF5200) I haven't
set the card to the new EP yet so am hoping that will take care of some
of that. Opened up Herkimer and Berniece Goth (with Alexandra and baby
Horatio) WHAT!?!?!?!?! Firs tthing right off Berniece, one day off
childbirth, is disrobing and Herkimer is climbing on tiop and off goes
the video, adn then the little nursery song! OHNO! I forgot that Acr
WASN'T INT EH hACK FILE!!!!!!! So now we know that ACR works with the
new EP! Immediately! Lord, anuy more GOths in my game and I'll ahve to
rename the kingdom to Gothdom! SO went to investigate further. Berniece
had a want to study parenting (how precious...have no idea where she's
going to do that since I tried both on the computer (not a custom one..I
stuck a maxi's in to see) and at the bookcase but nothing came up about
studying parenting. So we got a violin for Alexandra and Herkimer
immediately ran into the living room screaming "Pudthadaway!) and
covering his ears! Undaunted, she continued on for 2 cretivity points,
driving everyone insane with her squaky rendition of Lightly Row! And
Romeromeo or whatever the heck that cat's name is (they inherited him
from COrnelia) wound his way around everyione's legs squalling. So I
saved at that point and went exploting again. Went back to the
neighborhood screen and to the SIM Bin to see that once again I am going
to ahve to knock off Ottomas! For the love of Pete, how many of them do
I have to have on my cemertary?!?!?!?!?!?! And there's another Traveler
family even though I have the Traveler's already in my game! SO they
will have to go too along with the other EA people...that cemertary is
getting full. I suppose I could always just drop them in on Rexus' lot
and let him have fun.<shiver...my mind is so corrupted and I still
ahven't got over the Rexus in bunny sluppers> I'll delete the EA
houses..they aren't even remotely adaptable in my game so why take up
space? I did notcie that the silver dishwasher and trashsmasher now have
some recolors in teh bin and that there's a nerw propane BBQ unit that
looks like a trashcan. Most of the crafts stuff is in the folder with
knowledge, creativity, sports, etc...have to make a dance academy with
the ballet barre and start sending all the little girls and the fluffy
little boys for lessons...(although I shouldn't say that..I have an old
friend who danced for eyars with the Joffrey and he could kick the
lights out of anyone taller or beefier than he is...he's a scrappy
little guy)
So now I will start dropping in some of my favorite hacks to see what
goes...it was rather a shock to see Herkimer totally vasectomized AND
eunuchized adfter having CrammyBoy's "little" addition for so long. But
at elast we know ACR works. For me, the most important hack I need right
away is a camera hack...I hate short pans and my terrains are large.
Having to plow across them at snail's pace irritates me. I have a lot of
lots on the edges of things.
It's obvious to me, though, that I am at the outer limits of my vid
card, so will start investigating what the most optimal card is that I
can put on this computer to tide me over until new comoputer time. Like
I said before, even if I only get another year out of it, it's well
worth it to me to spend that little bit of money. The old card can go
into hubby;s machine (he still has just the AMD motherboard fixture and
compalins that his games don't play well on it so it will be an
improvement...he plays lame games anyway)...
So that's my report so far. ANy questions? Comments?

Camera mod - just throw back whatever you had in the first place. New EPs
overwrite the cameras. So it's not that it's not working but it just got
overwritten.
Parenting - I don't have the EP yet but I'm guessing you need an EP specific
bookcase or computer or it could be a magazine so your sims may need to go
shopping for magazines to study parenting. Obviously they didn't bother to
upgrade the old computers and bookcases for this EP and you have to use the
EP specific ones to get at some of this stuff.

Well, that's a relief....will have to go get them again at MTS2...I
think I was still using GunMod's but can't remember exactly...

rats..since I usually only use the custom ones I have no diea which are
the new EP editions...fartballs...how stupid not to upgrade what is
already EA content!

The study parenting option is on all the Maxis bookcases. I tried it,
but I kept getting an error, which is probably cause by Monique's
bookcase hack (which doesn't work btw) which I have removed. I haven't
had the time yet to test if that hack actually was the problem. I'll
have a look tomorrow.

It's the Free Time manual that comes with the game - scanned and converted
to a word document so you can make the writing as big as you want so you can
read it.
I did it before I installed the game and the courier came half an hour ago!
See how much I love you? LOL
I haven't gone through it thoroughly so there may be words in there that may
be a little wonky or wrong. It's the converter's fault. And I just haven't
had the time to go through it all, just did some basic formatting.
Enjoy! (and those who don't have Free Time yet can look through the manual
before they get it :) )

Test your hacks in batches, to try and determine through a process of
elimination what snafu's.
