My sims (and me) are finally having fun painting again, with the new
inventory option. Paint still life is by far my favourite. Photography
as well. I spend time looking for interesting photos and textures to
paint, knowing that my paintings won't be lost if my sims have to move
out.

Does anyone know if it's possible to duplicate paintings already in
existence? I know you can save the snapshot that you create, but I'd
like to copy some paintings I've already created as well.

I mean like... copy the painting inside the game :-) So I can put it
in an art museum downtown.

LOL then you'll realise something is missing - the artist,(the infinity
thing),
still it's worth a shot, you could put it in your inventory and stick it
in the Art Museum on the community lot (can you take stuff out of the
inventory downtown, I've not tried).

One possible suggestion.............There's a button on most keyboards
called "Print Screen". If you hit this when zoomed in close to your painting
you can copy it to your graphics program clipboard, edit-paste as new image,
and use this to make a permanent painting as a recolour in SimPe. If you can
get it to work with paintings. Sometimes it refuses to <grumble>
