Just received my copy of The Sims today. So far I have managed to set
the stove on fire, set the barbecue on fire, kill one of my Sims in the
barbecue fire, want to kill my Sim baby 'coz it cried every freakin'
second, build a house too small for the family who ran out of money and
keeps showing up at one of my other sims house every night after 9 and
eating their food, gotten my widow Sim and her son too depressed to look
for a job and study, and the cash is running out! Can't wait for
tomorrow... happy happy joy joy

They have to learn to cook! Also don't place any objects next to the
barbecue! And install smoke alarms in the house.

>want to kill my Sim baby 'coz it cried every freakin'

The baby will grow up, don't worry!

Thank God for money cheats :-)

If they're depressed they need some fun ore social contact.

That's what I was wondering. The clown pic is in the original, but I thought the
clown himself only came out with LL.

Tip for poor struggling families just starting out:

You don't have to build all your house walls straight away, or decorate
them. You need walls around the bathroom (for privacy) and walls around the
bedroom (for noiseproofing), but your kitchen and living equipment can stay
out on the lawn for as long as you like.

I prefer to do it this way rather than use the money cheat.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with using the money cheat if you want to.
:-) Everyone plays this game differently.

Better get the stuff in, the burgular will steal it if it's not protected by an
alarm. Had one family start out getting ripped off every night until I got the
alarm

Yes, but if you put it in the back yard, and a burglar alarm strategically
placed on the front wall, the cop will arrive before he gets away with anything.

In article <newscache$mldidg$cs4$1...@bartleby.maths.monash.edu.au>, Lisa Reeve
says...

Another tip for starting out - if you let your sim family start out with one or
two kids, the kids can be VERY helpful later on in getting family friends you
need to advance in your career, they are also great for taking care of other
babies that come along later. You can have your kids play with neighbor kids,
and they will play all evening until they fall asleep from exhaustion in the
street! But those friend points will be up where you want them. If you have a
bookcase or computer, you can keep the children home from school to care for any
babies, and keep their grades up (and avoid being shipped off the military
school) by having them study from the bookcase or on the computer. My Slimsim
family started off with two kids, a girl and boy. As mom & dad became amorous in
the heart vibrating bed and had more babies, the original two kids were used to
care for the babies until they grew up and could become productive in making
friends, turning on Servo robot and having him serve food to the crowd and
clean, feeding the fish, getting mail, and so on. The kids can paint pictures
and sell them too, but they only get a small amount. And every now and them a
child with an A+ average in school will announce they got S100 from Grnadpa for
good grades!

... but the whole of the outdoors is treated pretty much like one big room.
So if you put a burglar alarm on an outside wall it protects your outdoor
stuff. At least, I think it does, most of the time.
