Does anybody know of a hack that lets you actually "choose" the LTW
for a Sim? I have TJ's mod that lets me cycle through but it only
cycles through the ones related to an aspiration.

I changed one of my Sim's aspirations when he got to Junior level in
college and it changed his LTW. His LTW was exactly what I wanted it
to be and I'd like to put it back.

If there's a way to do it in SimPE, I'm willing to learn.

See, this simmie is my son-simmie and I *KNOW* what his LTW is, and
his aspiration has actually changed as he got a little older and more
mature.

Dang it...I just wanna play my game my way! LOL...

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

There is a way to do it in SimPE though it's been so long I'm not sure I
remember. I'll try and look it up. I did think Pescado did something but
what exactly is another matter.

You want the LTWVariety hack from MATY
http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,28.0.html

Also, probably uni_ltws_sns.package from MATY too.

Once you have those hacks in your game, you can use the Lot Debugger to
change the want. Either simply roll a new one and take what you get, or
step through them all till you find the one you want.

You can also use SimPE to change that.

OK, I think this is it. If Mim know, perhaps she'll correct me if I'm
wrong.

Open SimPE
Open Neighbourhood
Find Sim and open (plugin view)
Use the last tab and select 'open wants and fears'
Choose the Lifetime Want tab
Click on the current LTW - the other options appear in a list opposite. It
can take a bit of fiddling to find what you want.
Click on the one you want, click commit and save

Please do a back up first. I have done this before but it was a long time
ago and I'm not sure if you're meant to do anything else.

Best wishes

It's an option under the SimModder (the spawned baby).

I had problems with this. The LTJ want would show up in the game as $job$
rather than the name and it wouldn't fulfil properly. Using the baby to
cycle through all the available wants is better - but slow.

It's been a (long) while since I used it. One thing I found was for the
LTWs with numbers you had to be careful since if you first selected the
'marry six children' want and then the '20 lovers' (or whatever) that the
number didn't change and you got a LTW for have 6 lovers which didn't
display properly in game. This might account for the problems you had?
Anyway, I found if I was careful that it did work but I agree it's a fiddle.
I am usually satisfied with cycling with the LotDebugger. I barely pay
attention to LTWs anyway - the only one that really annoys me is the one for
the businesses which seems to come up constantly.

And the ones for wanting a whole slew raft of puppies or kittens or
such. I don't like that one either. I had puppies once in the game.
Drove me nuts! Then when I had the sim call the pet people to come get
the puppies so they could be sold at the pet store, the poor sim cried
and cried like they were taking his children away! No more puppies or
kitties for me! LOL

If your LTW means Lifetime Want, the college adjuster I think from MTS2 lets
you reroll lifetime wants. It looks like a thick phone book. I used to
have it but my puter recently crashed and I haven't reloaded it. One of the
things still on my list alpng with the mailbox hack.

I like LTWs as they can give my sim a direction in life, aside from my
specifics plans, if I have any that is. Achieving them may or may not
happen. So any sim with a want for 5 top level businesses or 20 puppies
gets their want rolled - no way am I doing those. If a sim wants to marry
of 6 kids I might decide I that as I want them in a particular career track
they get a hacked computer to ensure they get the job. Those with a career
want have to get it the unhacked way. I don't make it easy on them - just on
me. :-)

Ah no - TwoJeffs left MATY quite some time ago. However, the OP was asking
about being able to get LTW which were not linked to the present aspiration
of the sim. The college adjuster (like the LotDebugger which also does
this) only allows a reroll for LTWs linked to aspiration. As Mim said, the
best way to do it is with the baby.

That's not a LTW is it? Just regular wants? I think I must have Pescado
hack that suppresses those. They do occasionally get wants for a pet but
not often.

Twojeffs took all his hacks with him when he left MATY some time ago.
He's now at simbology.

There's a very aggravating LTW to raise 20 puppies/kittens.

Oh, I must have a hack that suppresses that then. Well, thank heavens for
that.
