Second, I'm having a problem with my HP CD. I'll give a shot to cleaning the
drive, but if it turns out that the disk is damaged, I'll just go out and buy
another one. It leads to an interesting question. Would a new disk play on the
current installation, or would it have a problem because of a different serial
number? Would I have to uninstall and reinstall? (I can just see me posting
"Help, I've got too many serial numbers!")
Notes to BlueGenie: I've been decorating a summer cottage and wanted to let you
know that you have the only paintings I've found suitable for it. (A nice
seascape, birds, chipmunk, etc.) Thank you! I also downloaded your four paned
window. It shows up in buy mode. Is this supposed to happen? I don't mind - it
seems to work OK.
Also would anyone let me know if you see some bright tropical wallpapers - I've
looked all over. I'm thinking florals in those vivid colors you see in the
caribbean.
I am so impressed by the quantity and quality of downloads available recently.
Thank you to all you object makers. Your efforts are really appreciated.
It should run just fine with a new CD...

The separate directory is for the costume trunk skins. You'll notice all
of them have names that begin with "ct-" instead of the usual numbers,
which will keep Character Makeover from finding them even if you copy them
over to GameData\Skins. So there's not much point in doing so.

LOL! It should work fine. We had a roommate for a while -- he was actually
the one who hooked us on the Sims in the first place -- so there were two
copies each of The Sims and LL in the house, his and ours. I seem to
recall that we could put either his CD or ours into either computer and
play just fine.

I tried moving and renaming them and discovered they're larger files, so
if you really want them you have to open them into an art programme copy
them, adjust the colur so it's indexed and then rename them using one of
the body meshes that Sims can find. I'm at the point where I'm hoping a
skinner will do it and I can download <g>
My skins all come out a bit grainy at the moment as I haven't totally
cracked the software (Photoshop that is)
