Tribes 2 was easy to get into a pickup game. How does Tribes
Vengeance compare with Tribes 2? Fewer servers/gamers? Thanks.

Then again, for six bucks (US), I should just try it.

T:V is a quite different game, more similar to UT than T2.

Apparently last night there was a big T2 pickup game:

MA hopes to hold a pickup at the end of the month:

Bumping this to remind people that the pickup is this Saturday. (I won't be
able to make it as I'm attending a friend's wedding anniversary dinner.)

As far as I know, I am free saturday night. I just need to remember (last
time, I remembered after it was already too late).

That means you forgot!

I found my T2 disc the other day, so I'm going to get around to reinstalling
it soon.

Heh. Apropos nothing, I've just been looking back on this NG whilst the
25034 patch is installing.

It's weird looking back on posts I made 8 years ago! The first one I can
find is me whingeing about people nicking scout vehicles. You replied
funnily enough.

Doesn't seem like it has been that long. I feel old.

Well I got news for ya, sparky. You *are* old.

I know what you mean though. My first foray into Usenet was 1997, on
rec.arts.sf.written.robert-jordan (now pretty much moribund). Eleven
years of trolls, and discussion, and sexual innuendo.

Usenet is dead, long live usenet...

Don't remind me. Looking at people I went to school with, and in my
recent forays to try and get a date, shit tons of people my age have kids
now. Can't fucking believe it.

It really is kinda sad that everyone moved on. Really kinda prefer it to
the web forums.

Dito. Everyone's getting married and having kids all over the place.
Makes you want to yell "Wait until I catch up", but resume's have never
been improved by adding "Caused death of human race". :-)

The people in that group all moved on to LiveJournal. Completely
different, of course, so no more multiple-input threads that live and
breathe for many, many months...

Heh, don't you just know it. As things stand, I didn't have my first date
till I was 21, and now, here I am at 23, single, and no prospects of a
date, let alone a relationship. I hope to be able to bounce my kids on my
knee, before it is parkinson's causing the bouncing. Honestly, as things
are now, I doubt I'd be in shape to be a decent father even 10 years from
now. Two separated shoulders, blown out right knee, right arm pretty
mangled, and arthritis. Ahh, can you tell that I am not enjoying my
recent re-enstatement to the single life?

Most of the people I know never really got much into the livejournal
thing. Quite a few I talk to now over IRC though. Still not the same.
