What up everyone!? This is JumpsuitJesse here, just writing a few things
about the crazy weekend of SF2K in Chicago. Talk about a nice turnout!
There was quite a few people there! For starters, it was Javier(Javi),
Chris Wong(cmutt), Adrian Ross(Big Ross) and me! Javi and I had to fly on a
separate plane cuz Chris and Adrian had received their tickets earlier. We
got to O'Hare around 11am and met up with the walking orange himself,
"Mr.Wizard" who went on to tell me how he was Dominator! I just threw him
crazy...but he just kept me laughin'! We all had to wait for Chris and
Adrian to pick us up. We had rented an SUV which could only seat about 5-6
people to begin with. So it was Me, Wizard, Tommy, Chris, Javi, and Adrian
all stuffed in there! We were packed like sardines! So we began to drive to
The Red Roof Inn, which felt like an eternity! By the time we got there,
our legs were numb and our backs were twisted! We got all our stuff off(we
packed 2 superguns)and got our rooms and quickly changed and freshened up a
bit. So me, Chris, and Adrian spent the entire evening in Downtown Chicago,
shoppin at NikeTown, and eating dope ass pizza, and Javi got stuck running
to and from the airport to pick up "Jugos De" Alex Valle and
Tammy(GummyDrop). When all that was done, we got back to the Roof and were
tired for the most part. Chris knocked out for a bit, while me, Alex, and
Adrian headed over to SJG across the street. First person I saw when I
walked in was Apoc "Sisqo" Gonzales! One right after the other I was seein
people from all over! It was a good feelin to see everyone again. I could
tell it was going to be fun! I spent the majority of that evening talkin to
everyone, playin some Alpha2, Alpha3 and lots of ST! Seth Killian and I
played the shit out of eachother(I still say he's one bad mofo!)along with a
few others on ST. I remember it was Seth Killian, Wes Truelson, "Recoom",
and I forget who else, but we were all playin our asses off. The subject of
"who could pull off the dopest" combo came up, and "Recoom" said he had one
with DeeJay. He says, "I can do crossup forward, 3 low jabs, standing
strong into hyper fist!" and I said, "Hmmm...thats good, but I have a better
one..." everyone was like "WHOA!" I asked Pete to hold down on the second
player controller so i can get a good crossup...so I did a cross up forward,
low jab, standing short, standing strong, into Super Double Dread Kick for 8
hits! It would have been 10 but the Rasta Kick wasnt close enough to
juggle! All I heard was "NICE.....!" I was like "yeah yeah! all on the
first try!" That was fun. Seth was amazed, and that look on his and
Recoom's face was priceless! So as the night went on, I'm sure everyone
noticed the "Chun Li" chick who had the hairdo goin on and some fine legs to
match! The whole time, all I kept saying was "I want her! If only she'd be
my Queen!" LOL! That whole practice day was a blur cuz we were all playing
so much. After SJG closed, we all ended up goin to IHOP. All I could
remember was that there was 11-13 guys being stuffed into a 5-6 passenger
SUV to go to IHOP. I was riding the commando postition tucked between the
driver and passenger seats. It was a nightmare!
Day Two: Alpha3, Alpha2 and Super Turbo!
After a long night of IHOP food, more playing at the hotel room, and a few
hours of sleep, I headed over to Starbucks to get my MochaFrapaccino with
Expresso so I could be AWAKE for the day! I saw a FuncoLand there so I went
in and bought RIVER CITY RANSOM!! I couldnt resist! So, I made my way back
to SJG and it was around 12:15 and the tourney hadn't started yet for
Alpha3. At the last minute, I decided NOT to enter the tournament. After
watching the stuff that Watson, Choi, Valle, and Thao were doing, I was like
"Awww heeell naaaw!" so I didnt enter. So I spent that time practicin Alpha
2 and ST. Tammy was givin out lolipops like a mad-girl!! Everywhere you
looked there were lolipop sticks on the floor! Thats what kept me on a
sugar rush all day! Thanks Tammy! After that, I tried to watch to Alpha3
finals, but me and my short self couldnt find a good spot, so I went back to
pay even MORE ST! Then I heard Jason announce the beginning of the Super
Street Fighter 2 Turbo Tournament! I was all pumped and ready! My first
opponent was Recoom. He beat me the first match with Dee Jay, so I brought
out Ken(I think) and beat him. Then he brought out Zangief and took out my
Ken. I was like, "OK!" For a second there I was gettin nervous....then
Watson walks up and tells me to pick Fei, and use standing fierce...so I
did, and whatya know, the shit worked!! I won my first fight. Mike Watson
was scolding me like a little kid..."MAN! LISTEN TO ME, DONT DOUBT ME!!" It
was too funny! After that was over, I was talkin to Choi on who wins
between Ryu and Old Sagat. He said use Ryu, sit back and build up your
super, and move in for the kill. So I though, "COOL!" Well, then my next
match came up against Thao Duong. Now Thao is OG...he's a bad ass at
Alpha2, and I know he plays ST to some extent, but I never fought him in a
tourney. So, we dont decide to do blind pick, and he chooses Old
Sagat(Hmmm..what a coincidence) and I have had HORRIBLE experiences using
Fei Vs Old Sagat, so I chose Ryu for the first match. My Ryu couldnt match
his fireballs, or get in effectively(yeah, yeah, I suck, ok!) and Thao won
the first match. So, I chose New Ken the second time. Now, I'm alot better
with New Ken than I am with Ryu, period. But, to no surprise, Thao out
gunned, and out uppercutted my Ken. I was down 2-0 and worried as hell!!
All I heard was someone behind me say, "Use Fei!" So I said "fuck it" I
chose Fei......BAM! Right away I started with a jump in 5 fierce combo on
his missed fireball. For the next 2 matches, I dont know what happened, all
I remember was catchin Thao with everything. I came back and won so fast,
it was crazy! He was like, WOW! I couldnt believe it myself! I was so
close to losin....I felt so pumped when I won the 2nd time, and I knew I was
going to win the last. So, I won that match. Happy, and relieved, I walked
to get a soda....my next fight was against some guy named "Shirts"
Deheras....never met this guy before, never spoke to him before...all I
remember was watchin him and Jason Wilson share rounds with Old Sagat. From
the start of the match, he chose Old Dhalsim, and I chose Fei. Right away,
he catches me offguard and beats me 1-0. Then, stupid ass me, I put the
cursor on Vega and try to take him, but I only got one round against him.
He obviously had experience against Vega. So, I was in a real fix. Down
2-0, I go back to Fei Long, and change my fighting style...sorta. Right off
the back, I was rushing him down, takin a few hits here and there, but I got
him. One thing he kept falling for was that he'd go for the early double
low forward on the wake up and I'd counter flame kick him almost everytime,
makin him pay and think twice about it. He couldnt believe I beat him that
time. So, he picked Dhalsim again, and so again I went for it. Rushing
him, trapping him in the corner, while he kept trying to zone me, doing
drills, slides, and throws. But again, I manage to pull another win, and I
could tell he was getting pissed. Almost as if it were an embarassent to
lose to a character like Fei. Our last match came down to the last round
and he just ended up zoning me with Dhalsim, and I couldnt find a way to get
in. So he ended up winning that one and I went to the losers bracket. I was
sick to my stomach because I knew I could beat his Dhalsim, and I know he
knew it too. But I had to keep my head clear and concentrate on my next
fight. All i know is that I will fight that guy again, and when we do, I'm
killin him. So, my first match in the losers bracket was none other than
Seth "Killer" Killian with his deadly cross-handed play style. We have so
much respect for eachother, neither of us knew what to expect. So we did
blind pick, and he chose Chun Li. He beat my Fei Long with well timed
throws, and fancy footwork(Chun Li is a fast bitch!) So, I cant remember if
I picked New Ken . I beat his Chun Li after a 3 round knock out drag out
fight....talk about mental stress!! So then, he picks Balrog...I was like
"Oh Great!" But I think I beat his Balrog with my Ken, and he chose Chun Li
again and wiped out my Ken ....so it came down to Fei Vs Chun Li....another
fight that went down to the wire...but on the last round i got lucky and
beat his chun li with a precision perfect. After that I shook his hand and
gave him my utmost repects and thanked him for one hell of a game! I
remember him tellin me "Great victory, man! You earned it.." Seth Killian
is a great player...I'd have him on my Street Fighter Team anyday! After
that exhausting fight, i took a break and watch Deheras fight someone...I
forget who...but Deheras lost, and had to fight Watson....Watson beat his
ass! Real pro stuff with Balrog...way too good! Then, I heard Jason Wilson
call me up and say "C'mon Jesse, you n me are up!" I didn't expect to face
him. Now, I cant remember who his first 2 fighters were, but I beat them
with Fei, so I was up 2-0, but then he picked his
"I'm-on-crack-catch-me-if-you-can-M.Bison" and beat my Fei Long 2 straight.
I just couldnt catch him, and Fei is fast too! but I just couldnt catch
him. He came back to tie the games at 2-2. My cursor lingered on Fei for a
sec or 2, but then chose New Ken. I got him with alot of jump is
fierce/hurricanes, knee grabs, but then he started to reverse. All i did
was counter his limbs. We fought to the last round, and he missed his move,
and I countered it with a dragon punch. Great fight, Jason! Then, the
inevitable happened...I had to fight Mike Watson....I was like
"NNNnnnnnoooooo!!!" LOL! But we looked at eachother, shook hands, and said
good luck(yeah right, i knew deep down inside he was saying "I'm gonna peace
you the fuck out!")From the start he picked Rog, and the rest was history!
But hey, I did manage to get a perfect on him with 90 secs on the clock!
How many of you can do that to Watson in a tourney? 8P So I was out....and
I was tied for 5th or 4th with john Choi.....The finals in ST were
funny....Valle picked Sagat to beat Balrog, Watson picked Dhalsim to beat
Sagat, Valle picked Ryu to beat his Dhalsim, watson picked balrog to beat
his ryu....see a pattern? Alas, Watson picked Bison to take out his
Sagat....Oh, before I forget, the power went out before they could finish
and all I heard was Watson yell "WHAT THE FUCK!!" as loud as he could!!
But they got the power back on and Watson beat Valle. Great finals.
Day Three: Alpha2, 3rd Ass, and MvC2
Woke up and went back to the arcade for another long ass day of playin.
They were finishing up the finals for Alpha2 and it was amazing!
So, I sat back and watched the finals for Alpha 2(NO, I didn't enter Alpha2
either, so shut up!) My GOD, the finals between Choi and Valle were SICK!!!
These guys are on another level....the strategy, precision, anticipation,
and tons of other stuff was just a site to see. The whole time I was
amazed. I congatulate BOTH of them for just playin the way they do....sick!
My respects go out to both of them crazy kids!
Then 3rd Strike Started....and I officially suck at that game. So, I lost
my first match quickly, and went to sit with the Twin Galaxies lady named
Emma! She had an accent like WHOA!! Sexy English accent!! I asked her to
say "Guttah-trash" for me and she said
"Whoiy-ah-seoh-meny-peepo-ahsking-me-to-soiy-thot!?" But she said it so
well..."Guttah-trash!" I got her number, email, and mailing address! Woo
hoo! She was too nice. I spent the rest of that day tryin to get good
looks at the fine ladies in there....mainly Chun Li, and my old friend
"C.......K" Lisa. Did you guys see her? She developed like WHOA!!! Like
POW BANG BOOM!! I was frikkin nervous when she was there!! I never get
nervous! But we didnt speak. I thought she was there with her boyfriend,
so i left it at that. But she sure was a sight to see! In fact, I think
me, Adrian and Chris had sore necks after our day in Downtown
Chicago...there were so many fine ladies there it wasnt even funny. Our
heads were turnin every way!
All in all, I'd say we had a great time. With shit like Watson and Valle
sexually abusing me, Wizard tryin to brain wash me into thinkin that he was
the Dominator, Tin carrying his "Penis Book" , 11 of us crushing into a SUV
like a buncha runaway immigrants to go eat, me and Javi getting into the
wrong blazer and trying to force the key to turn the igniton, and Watson
showing me the meaning of "peace out" I had lots of fun. I had a great time
fighting Darek, Pete, NKI(Nick) and David Spence on ST. I think NKI will be
really good if he keeps up the practice....he just kept coming back after
every peace out i gave him...you go NKI! He was so sick when he saw the
double early standing fierce rekka combo....hehehehehehe! Oh, and Pete
couldnt get over how he kept tryin to reverse throw my jumping jab and ended
up eating a flame kick everytime. Hey, we all learn the hardway man!
I dont even want to comment on MVC2. That game is a pain just to watch!
So I didnt even stick around for that. Well, its gettin late, and I have
to go now. I'd like to thank the academy.....no no, wrong line....I'd like
to send shouts out to the following...

Heh heh...yeah, that was great. I was just playing a little Alpha 2 when
all of a sudden all the machines turned off, and I heard Watson shout "WHAT
THE FUCK!!??". Too funny...

It does soooo much damage! And usually dizzies, too. That's a KO waiting
to happen, right there.

The four or five times I actually stopped to watch MvC2, all I saw were
Strider/Doom teams and then either Cable, Blackheart or Juggernaut. Bleah.
I suck at that game anyway, so I wasn't too interested. I did, however,
watch one of Arturo's matches. He sure has the Strider/Doom trap down-pat,
that's for sure. Heh...Arturo also beat me in A2 a couple of times with his
Rolento and that nasty CC Rolento has...I WANT A RE-MATCH!!!
