Near the start of res 1 (Jills mission) Barry tells Jill to meet him in
the hall if anything happens and says ''this time i'll be there''.

possibly something could be incorperated into RE0 to explain this but does
anyone know what he is talking about? Did I miss a file or something?

thanks

It's also to make him look good/bad depending on your actions. Because if you
get in trouble getting the shotgun he comes to the rescue often throughout the
game just as he says, but if you don't he never does come to the rescue when
you get in other trouble and so he fails at doing what he said.

"This time, I'll be there."

Barry was making reference to the fact that Wesker had said, "Let me
handle this!" meaning he'd stay in the hall and wait for them. When Jill
and Barry returned, obviously, Wesker was gone. So when they split and
he said that, he meant, unlike Wesker, he'd be in the hall. Which
doesn't quite make sense but holds semi-true when you meet him and he
gives you the acid rounds.

Great game, some of the worst dialogue ever. I love it!

Yea, that sort of makes sense. It at least makes more sense than when he's
giving the acid rounds to Jill and she says, "Okay, I'll take THIS then." like
there was more than one choice or something. It's easy to tell in that game
that the voice actors recorded their lines individually without hearing the
line they were supposed to be responding to.
