Silent Hill is a scary game, but there is almost no gore (aside from the gutted
bodies hanging on the walls). Do you think SH2 would prosper or be held back
by RE2ish gore? (i.e., popping heads, removal of limbs, and so on...)

Actually, if I remember correctly, it will be the opposite. There will
be more blood o the walls, severed corpses, crucified bodies, headless
dolls (my favorite), but nothing like blowing a zombies head off with a
shotgun! (too fun!). But from the screens I've seen, the interviews I've
read, and the previews thus far, and if the same formula (and
flashlight) are kept, the game just might make people wet their pants.
One thing though. I read in an interview conducted by PSM that there
won't be any demon children this time around because the new graphics
are so good that they actually would look like knife carrying, demonic
laughing (best feature on those SOB's), brain exposed, deformed little
kids. Hell forbid we should possible offed someone. Though I heard that
some people felt Silent Hill was pushing things anyways. Push the
envelope further! Hell, everyone here can take it!

No, Bush won the presidency, so Gore's not going to be around to ruin Silent
Hill 2.

Children represent innocence in our society. Pure innocence. There would be
outrage from the parental groups if videogames showed little kids getting mowed
down in a spray of bullets.

Funny, I was envisioning that exact scenario when the three crying babies
decided to do an extended duet on my 9 hour flight back from Paris last
week.

As far as innocence, I think our species must be genetically predisposed to
regard kids as cute to distract us from what smelly barbaric disgusting
little creatures they are, but that's jusy my opinion.

Yeah, i reckon babies must have a supernatural ability to distract grown ups
from the truth... i mean, i see the truth in my neice, but they can see no
wrong in whatever she does...

Super Street Fighter 2 X: Grandmaster's Challenge for Matching Service

Then again, I don't think the matching service version of SSF2X gets the
"Grandmaster's Challenge" subtitle. Even without it, though, it's pretty
long.
