I was playing RCT today, and suddenly the game quit and I got an error
message that says.

Data corrupted or inaccessible.

I uninstalled RCT +LL defragged my harddisc.
Ran scandisk and then reset the machine.
After that I installed the game again and got the same error.
I looked at the home webpage to see if there was a suggestion on how to fix
the problem, but I couldn't locate one.

Does anybody have any ideas on what I can do to fix this problem?

I'm running a Celeron 700 with 196mb RAM, on Windows ME.

I never had any problems with the game, after I installed the updated patch
for Loopy landscapes, until tonight. My wife downloaded the swiss army
trainer and used it. I deleted that as well, before I defragged.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What's happened is your wife's use of the SAT tripped an anti cheat code.
However, I should also point out that its possible to have this happen even
with a legit scenario. The fix for that is to go get a copy of the Drexler
Patch.

rct.ogresnet.com has a copy, as does
www.strategyplanet.com/rctuk/

Actually, the TRG trainer should be able to fix this problem; it happens
sometimes when you're using a trainer (any trainer, not just TRG) with the
game. With RCT _not_ running, launch the trainer and use its "Clean Config"
command (read the trainer's online help for more information). RCT should
work normally after that.

Greg.

Sorry, Decaying Atheist, could you repeat that? I wasn't paying
attention:

I think that's it. The Swiss Army trainer has an option called "clean
config" that should fix this problem.

No, my patch won't help here if RCT doesn't even run.

It only applied to loading savegames, nothing else.

If you've been using a trainer get the Drexler patch at
www.strategyplanet.com/rctuk.

Why does everyone say that? (OK, not everyone maybe)

It's not a miracle cure... and it won't help in this case.

It only helps if you can't load savegames. I won't help if you can't run
RCT, neither if RCT quits unexpectedly.

I strongly believe that incorrect advice is worse than no advice.

Josef, your patch is the often mooted as the cure for all ills at
Danimation. It's often blamed as the cause of all ills too as in:

'RCT was running fine until I downloaded the Drexler patch, but now I get
<insert error here>'

Thought you might be comforted by this knowing that at least there's a
balnced view out there ;)

The problem was fixed by using clean config in the trainer. Thanks to all of
you that took the time to help with the problem.

Fair enough :)

(Not that I ever heard of a genuine case where my patch caused trouble
except for installing official patches...)
