The view atop the Bell Tower was absolutely breathtaking, with the
evening sky tinting the land purple and all of Johto unfolding like a
quilt. Neji and Satori were thoroughly enjoying the scenery, except
for when a Ghastly would pop out to scare them, to which Sora would
give it a swift Drill Peck between the eyes. A few dark clouds were
visible in the distance, which signaled a storm coming. It was quite
easy to tell, since all the rest were tinged pink and orange in the
setting sun.
“This view is great,” Satori observed. “I just wish I could see it
all a bit clearer.”
“Even if it’s not clear, it’s still a great view,” Neji replied.
“You’re right about that,” Satori agreed. “But hey, we’d better head
back soon. The folks’ll wonder where we went.”
“A little longer won’t hurt anything,” Neji replied. “It’s not like
we’re in a rush.”
“Ghastly!”
“FEAROOOOOOWWWW!”
Out popped a Ghastly for the third time, only to get a sharp beak
stabbing it between the eyes. It quickly faded back into the shadows.
“Good one, Sora,” Satori complimented.
“Ampha…” Inazuma muttered. The Fearow shot him a dirty look.
“Pharosam!”
“FEAROW!” Sora argued.
“Feel free to stop any time, you two,” Satori groaned.
A slight breeze blew through the area, bringing with it some autumn-
colored leaves from the Bellchime Trail’s trees. The sun gently fell
into the horizon a bit more every moment, making it darker and darker
outside. Suddenly, it was blocked out by a huge, indiscernible
figure.
“What the…” Satori said. “Did it just get darker?”
“I suppose you can’t tell, but there’s something in front of the
sun…” Neji said.
The figure rose up, restoring what little light there was back to
them. It appeared to have giant wings with many colors on them which
mesmerized the two as it gradually came closer, rising farther up as
it went. Even though it was getting dark, the setting sun made its
feathers glow beautifully.
“I think I know what this one is,” Neji said. “My Grandma knows all
about the legendaries. That’s Ho-Oh, the Rainbow Pokemon.”
“Ho-Oh… I’ve heard of that one, too. But what’s it doing out at this
time?”
“I don’t know, but it looks like it’s going somewhere.”
“Fearow!” Sora screeched.
“That’s not one you want to mess with, Sora,” Satori advised. “You’d
be dead in a minute.”
“Phar Ampharos…” Inazuma groaned. (“Don’t discourage her, then…”)
Sora opened her beak to argue, but decided against it. Hebi glanced
up at it, slightly startled at the bird, a light hiss escaping her
throat.
As the bird flew overhead, it paid no mind to a small rainbow feather
that dropped from its magnificent wings and onto the tower floor.
Satori and Neji were too busy staring up in awe at Ho-Oh as it flew
overhead and into the horizon. It shot them a quick glance as if to
acknowledge their presence before continuing on its way.
“Whoah…” Satori said. “We just saw Ho-Oh.”
Kusa however, wandered over into a corner on the tower’s summit.
“Meg!” he cried, picking up a small object. Satori could make it out
to be a colorful feather, but it immediately caught Neji’s eye.
“Hey, look at this.” Neji said.
Kusa held a shining feather in his mouth with all the colors of the
rainbow on it: a Rainbow Wing.
“It’s a Rainbow Wing.” Neji said. “One of Ho-Oh’s feathers. Satori,
these are supposed to be very valuable, and now we’ve found one. We
can’t ever lose this thing!”
“Wow…” Satori breathed in awe.
“Blissey?” Hotaru asked.
“Meg,” Kusa said.
“Alright, we’re leaving now. It’s getting dark and we have to show
this to everyone anyway.” Satori said.
“Agreed,” Neji replied.

(NS- But alas, it is not Ho-Oh who causes their fiasco...)
