Great, 'cause I just beat Pokémon Black. Well, the first quest. I
apparently have to hunt down the Sages, and it seems Ghetsis has escaped.

Gee, I'm not betting on anything. I'm leaning toward a new pokemon or something along those lines, since BW2 was only released this year. But then again, Japan does get things sooner than we do, so it very well could be a new game. Personally, I don't think it'll be any RSE remakes, though... -Kage secretly has fingers crossed, though-

I did see an article on PokéMemes that suggested a new Eeveelution may be
introduced in an upcoming Eevee-centric featurette. It's evidence was that
the kanji in the title were all colored to match the various Eeveelutions
except for the last symbol, which may indicate a new one.

huh. I just looked at the PokeMemes article, and I'm personally leaning towards flying too. Of course, it might not have wings (Gyarados? Mantine? Jumpluff?)it could be some fox-like thing covered in clouds for all we know. I've seen a sketch like that somewhere...

BTW, regarding the Eevee article on PokeMemes, does Sreel-type seem logical too? I mean, the last letter is a bit grayish...

I think the new starters and legendaries look cool, and I love the fire fox starter. So much that it shall be my starter when I inevitably buy one or the other. I just hope I'll have someone to trade with.

>So, um, what do you guys think about Pokemon X & Y?

This one seems to be coming up rather suddenly after Black2/White2. Then
again, maybe I should be counting from Black/White, or maybe Diamond/Pearl.

X and Y? Seriously? Kind of a departure from their typical naming scheme,
but then again 3D is a bit of departure as well. They really hung on to
sprites like a death grip. What's next? Full voice acting? Also, there's
something lazy sounding about X and Y. I mean, I'm sure they put some
thought into it, but it feels like a placeholder title.

The 3D is... disappointing. It feels like only an incremental upgrade from
Black/White. The environments in BW were 3D, but not the characters. Now,
they swapped out the sprites for polygonal models, and they're not all that
impressive. Colosseum for the GameCube had better models, at least for
humans. I suppose it's a stylization thing, but I think it could've been
better. Although, I'd think that if they didn't come out with Black/White,
and we went straight to this from the more 2D Diamond/Pearl, it would seem
like a radical upgrade. The battles, on the other hand, if the footage is
anything to go by, will seem far more impressive. I imagine it'll still be
turn-based and menu-driven, of course, also making it seem like an
incremental change.

Those starters... It's always going to be the starters people will lambaste,
and I don't blame them. That Grass one looks like they repainted Oshawott.
Fennekin, oddly enough, I feel like I've seen somewhere before. Like a
fan-made Pokemon or something. I'm almost positive I've seen the name
before, even. Or maybe it just looks a lot like Zorua. And Froakie looks
ridiculous. They tried way too hard with that one. It better have one Hell
of a final evolution, because I get the feeling I'm going to be playing that
one anyway.

The Legendaries... They, as with the others, will likely grow on me. The
flying one first. The quadruped reminds me of Virizion, and I still think
it looks funny. Cool sword-legs, though. I get the feeling these will be
called Pokemon X and Pokemon Y in the games, if only as codenames before
they reveal the actual names.

So... Anyone wanna make some PokeBall Z jokes?

Oh, the simultaneous America/Europe/Japan release? Love it. That is
awesome.

I honestly couldn't agree more with everything you said.

I'm not too fond of the names, but hey, I guess they've used up all the other cool sounding gemstone names. Besides, they're mostly marketing to younger kids (as far as I've heard, anyway), and I can easily see someone going, "Did you see Pokemon X? It's SO COOOOOOOL!" because everyone seems to love the letter x.

Well, I guess I'll be buying a cheap 3DS off of eBay, since I'm certainly not unloading $169 for one at GameStop. Oh yeah, and I guess I can kiss sprite editing goodbye... (*sniffles* IT WAS SO FUN!!!!111!!11!one!!)

Yeah, I know, I was just saying I could easily see something like that happening. Guess I worded it a bit wrong.

Is it just me, or does that thing look like Skyla?

It reminds me of Mienshao.

This thing looks ridiculous. What's with the streamers and the bow tie? I
mean, Glaceon's sideburns were kinda silly, but this thing...

What type could this possibly be? It doesn't look like Eevee so I'm
hesitant to say Normal, although it feels most likely with that design. The
color kinda suggests Psychic, but there's already Espeon. I could say
Fighting or Ghost, but that bow tie just looks too silly to be either. The
design just doesn't evoke any current type that I can think of. It's
probably a new type, assuming any are being introduced. I hear that they're
Sound and Light, and this thing looks like a performer so that might fit.
I'm going with Sound, since I think it looks like a singer.

Anyway, I'm nominating Ninfia as the "Dumbest New Pokémon Design" in Gen VI.
(And it's only the sixth one! Is that a record? Probably not.) I'll be
expecting competition for the title, if only on other fans' nominations.

Apparently, the Ninfia pictured is Shiny, so the colors aren't anything to
go on. Still, It's got bows and streamers, so I'm sticking by my previous
type assessment. Also, I was just thinking it's English name could be
Infineon.

Nah, I'm just going off from the name. "Ninfia" sounds a little like
"Infinity" to me.

Apparently, it's English name is Sylveon and there's evidence to believe
that it is a Flying type.
