Custom portraits go in the /portraits subfolder of your main NWN folder.
There should be five portraits, all with the same name ending
consecutively with H, L, M, S and T and all having the .tga extension.

That is the problem. I open the Game folder and in the NWN folder there is
'no' sub folder.

Note: I have Hordes install with NWN Gold.

There should be a lot of subfolders. NWN is typically installed to
C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\ and there should be several files in the NWN
folder as well as about two dozen subfolders. I wouldn't think the Gold
edition is any different.

Create it then. IIRC, thats what I had to do waay back when ;). Just put it
under the NWN directory with everything else as "portraits" (no quotes) and
stick your gimili mugs in there.

Do a search on your harddrive for portrait. That should locate the proper
folder for you.

Well I don't know what to tell ya.. Try the bioware.com tech boards for nwn.
My portraits folder is under NeverwinterNights/NWN/portraits so I don't
know whats up with your setup.

Try doing a search for *.tga That will find any targa base graphics on
your system and that's what NWN uses for portraits.

The portraits included with the game are packed into .bif files. A
search won't find them.

Oldun, are you sure you named the folder "portraits" (plural)?

Then, though, you have to Customize the character and select the newly-saved
portrait for the character. Simply placing them in the folder isn't enough
(unless they were overriding an existing set of portaits, I suppose.)

Yes, the folder is Portraits.

I bow to all the nice folks who have given their support in this, but, must
give up the
quest to get gimili images. 8^(

My installation of NWN and the expansions also does not hanve a
portraits folder. NWN Gold + HOTU. Is it possible that Bioware changed
how they handled portraits between versions?
