nwn2 fixed exe v1.12

as the subject line says, I want to find a fixed exe file that will let me
play the game without the cd - my cd is getting pretty scratched up from all
the inserting and removing. and I want to stick with v1.12 because I have
had no problems with characters going missing like I did with previous
versions.

(I've googled it, but the sites I've tried all want me to "join" before I
can download and that makes me wary)

The standard location for such a file is GameCopyWorld.

While the stuff the site itself has is fine, beware of the ad banners.
There have been incidents of malware coming from ad banners.

I don't know why, but GameCopyWorld is somewhat outdated with NWN2
stuff. The newest avaiable version is still 1.0.11.1153.

The Diamond release does not have a requirement to have the CD in the
drive, and so does not need a no-CD patch.

AFAIK, all versions of NWN1 run without the CD as long as you have the
latest patch.

Really? - I DL it about six weeks ago without problems when I installed the
game (for old time's sake) on my new computer.

It starts downloading a file, but the whole lot crashes. Someone earlier in
the thread said "You need to run the patch on the CD " but I'm not sure
which file that is ?

I had trouble loading the patch for NWN1 also...says I need to go find
something else in order to load it but I haven't looked into that yet
since I don'tcare about no CD playing and haven't had any noticeable
probelms with the game so far (am in the excavated parts of Underwhatsit...)
