Here in DK it's a job for the police, they'll call in a tow truck if the car
is causing danger or major inconvenience to the traffic, and then send a
greeting card to the owner with the bill for the towing and storage plus the
fine for illegal parking, if the car is not causing immediate problems they
will look up the owner in the registers and call him/her, giving him/her a
reasonable amount of time (less than 5 min.) to come and remove the car,
leaving them with only the fine. Danish police officers are sooo polite :o)
A picture of the car with the note went sort of viral on the Farce book, and
one of our major newspapers picked up on the story, the car owner did not
want his name published but told that he got off with the phone call and a
minor fine, most commentors however would have loved to see the car after
being rammed by a fire truck, the Danish public is not as polite as our
police officers :o)
Most fire trucks are build to ram minor obstacles, like fences and light
concrete walls, to gain access to the fire, and there are regulations for
building those obstacles so they will give way for the fire brigade :o)
