LOL

I posted the message seconds after takeoff, as soon as I could visually
see a lift on my tv, so it really was in the air at the time :P I was
just happy that it finally did it, after all the canceled launched.
Since a woman from Montréal is aboard, they covered the event quite
often these last weeks in my area.

I was thinking "Already?" as you message was posted just five minutes
after the liftoff, but I quickly noticed it was another one which was
launched two years ago :)

I saw the shuttle addon for FSX in the shop the other day, is it any good.
The last time I had a blast in the shuttle was on a Commodore VIC-20!

Apparantly the best space simulator you can get for PC is Orbiter and it's
free (WooHoo) can be got here
http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/
app it is programmed by a physics prof. I gave it a whirl about 1 year ago.
It is very complicated. I gave up as I didn;t have the time to invest then,
but may give it a try again now that I am "resting"

Hi Carl
I still have the shuttle game for the Atari. I even fired up that system a
couple years ago just to play it. It was simplistic compared to today's
simulations.
I have two Shuttle programs for FS. Space Shuttle Mission 2007 and Space
Shuttle 2004/FSX made by JustFlight. Both are extremely challenging and very
sophisticated. I have yet to achieve orbit because I constantly have to
pause it to flip the required switches...there's a lot of work involved. But
I haven't given up, just need more time.

Which is about the computing power they had in that time in the Shuttle.
Ok, 4 times for redundancy reasons.

Thinking back, that's maybe more than 20 years ago! Then I had a C=64,
followed by an Amiga 5 or 600. Secret of Monkey Island on about 15 floppies
IIRC!

The can itself won't be a problem. It's what will happen about 2 hours
later which is a problem :P

Readers might like to watch the Fully Loaded Can (TV ad):

It cracks me up severely and makes me think of a few of the inmates
here. ;-)
