Has anyone posted this link before? I just found it and am wondering if
I might hook up another TH2Go and network this computer and utilize it's
2 monitors. That would be 8 monitors. My mouth is watering... :)

I have to wonder, does the mind/eyes blank out the individual monitor frames
so that you end up being unaware of them. From a spectator pov, they seem
very dominant, though it might not be so noticable close up.

I only have three screens but I do find that the frames no longer intrude
after a while. It is similar to looking out of a window I think.

Like Quilly said, the brain pushes the frames out after a while. At
first I would use shims under the monitors to line up the 3 displays
perfectly. I even shaved matchsticks. :) But now I don't even see it
if the images don't line up perfectly. (They have to be close though) :)

My sim is a construction in progress, I'm slow. This is a picture of
the recent addition, a table that allowed the instrument panel monitor
to move while allowing the display monitors wrap around and be closer to
the eye.

http://flightsims.vze.com/dreamflyer/df-01.jpg

With all the room lights out in the room at night gives an extra measure
of immersion. You only see the displays and the movement of the machine
gives gives the seat of the pants something to do. I have to say, flying
instruments in a full dark room really feels good and a bit more
realistic. The construction of the DreamFlyer is such that a person can
jerk the controls around and the movement of the DF will not even be
close to what you see on the display. That's when you use FSx as a Game.
Using it as a Simulator, with smooth gentle control movements, it is
very close to actual. The little bit that is out of sync and adds the
problem of believing the instruments rather than the seat of the pants
in IMC.

This is a pathetic, boring video I created a long time ago and have been
telling myself to delete and re-do the video.

The dog in the video, Balto, is no longer with us. We still miss him.

I wouldn't say pathetic, I have over the years watched it several times, in
those moments when I wish I could justify a motion simulator - but I can't
Balto looks bored!

Still if you have that machine you might just as well play the part. I'd
try to find an old helicopter body to put around it... or make one.

MSFS, as real as it gets :o)

So what you are trying to tell me is, that none of you have a pair of Ray
Ban's laying next to the monitor, and wears them when no one is looking? ;o)

Heck I can't fly my F-14 without wearing tight blue jeans, a tight fit white
T-shirt, the Ray Ban's, and having Highway to the danger zone on the stereo
:o)

But then again, there is no one to watch me, except for the cat, and she
doesn't care what I'm wearing, as long as I take time off to pet her, every
15 minutes :o)

Another triple head 2 go and 2 more monitors.... :) That would be a wish.

Gabriella won't let me have it in our bedroom so I have the 3d bedroom
for the simulator. But half of the room is taken up with a double size
mattress and boxsprings for the dogs. :)

Actually it's a Laser Visor. To protect my eyes from stray lasers that
may be fired from some bad guys in the monitor. :) It's green but
turns the landscape brown when used in the sunlight IRL.

Complete with a loaded .38 very similar to the one I carried in the

If I could I would... :) I would love to enclose it but like I said in
the video, when it's dark you can only see the monitors and it feels
much like you are enclosed.

Hi Downloader,

"Complete with a loaded .38 very similar to the one I carried in the

Choke, cough, splutter!! :-)))

Why is this reminding me more and more of Lawnchair Larry??

Who can ever forget those famous words from ATC during the subsequent
FAA Investigation:

"The Captain of the TWA airliner reported passing a man in a lawnchair,
armed with a revolver, at 16,000 feet".

I still crack up whenever I remember the story and pictures unfolding on
this n/g, mate!! :-)))

Maybe we should change your moniker to Loungechair Bob??

"The two top Aviation Hall of Famers are - Lawnchair Larry, and
Loungechair Bob...

What a legend! :-))

:) :) Nah..... The .38 is loaded with snake shot. Well, the first
3 rounds. After killing the 3 rattlesnakes I will go on a "walk-a-bout"
at night looking for the buggers. So the .38 is hung by the door, ready
for a walk. :0

Want me to list some of America's more bloodthirsty "adventures" in
the last 100 years, boB? It all started with Woodrow "If they won't
open up their markets to us, we'll send in the marines!" Wilson.
Collectively they make 9/11 pale into utter significance, so I reckon
we should keep it a bit more real eh?

Tell you what: If you stop peppering your messages with Yankee
jingoistic propaganda, I won't call you on that bullshit, ok?

I can't be fairer than that.

Deal?
