I wanted to wish everyone that celebrates, a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving
weekend. I know for me, it is my favorite holiday, get to eat all that good
food and no stress of buying gifts!
But even more importantly, at least for me, I have many reasons to be
thankful for my life that has been blessed.
My wonderful wife of 3 years, whom I love dearly. My family, my friends.
And I am still gainfully employed, I know so many folks this year are
struggling just to make ends meet, after finding themselves out of work due
to no fault of their own.
And my health, especially after having to go through the open heart surgery
about 3 months ago, has really brought home my own mortality. I guess I look
at life a little different now.
So tonight we will start the process here, and throughout a good part of the
day tomorrow, getting ready for our family to start arriving. I am looking
forward to it, sharing a feast with our family, having yet another year to
be able to do so, and hoping for many more to come.
Happy Thanksgiving,

LOL!
Actually I think I've read there could be a shortage this year.
Perhaps some buggered of when they heard about the new tax increases.

Do you really want to get into that? { grin }
Eventually we had to shoot a bunch of red coats (were they German
mercenaries?) so they would buzz off and let us be. It didn't last long!
Really tho.. it's a big affair here in the states. Most people have a
four-day holiday weekend off from work, the airlines are booked solid,
and highways are crowded.. toll plazas could have 1-mile backups. It's
the official launch of the Christmas shopping season. We're putting the
electric window candles in today. If it wasn't so profitable I'd imagine
the pagan and occult government would disallow most of it!!

We trace this historic American Thanksgiving tradition to the year 1623.
"All ye Pilgrims with your wives and little ones, do gather at the
Meeting House, on the hill there to listen to the pastor, and
render Thanksgiving ...."
- Gov. William Bradford, Plymouth Mass., Nov 1623
>Not enough turkeys.
Turkey production has been industrialized, hasn't it? :)))

Here's more background. The first Colonies were established here..

Jamestown in May 1607.. then the Popham Colony in August 1607
(present day Maine). Here are views of my rear car plate:

Plymouth, Massachusetts

After Captain John Smith explored the Cape Cod area in 1614, a
plague killed 90-95% of the native Americans between 1614 and
1617 (how convenient). Plymouth was then established in 1620.
Sooo.. according to the above, the FIRST THANKSGIVING was held
with Chiefs Massasoit and Samoset (later Massachusetts) in 1621.
