For that much money, I can have my wife stand there and hold it over
the monitor with a string : )

Thanks...

I hadn't planned on spending half my day inventing the damn thing, but I
was leaning over the monitor and the thing just flat broke off the mounting
thingy.

Looking at it, I wondered if they could have done a worse job designing it.

The mounting connection between the unit and the bracket is just a piece of
crappy easily broken plastic about the diameter of a pencil lead.

Warning to other users... be careful with the thing, it takes no effort to
break it.

Sure it wasn't your big ol' ugly sausage fingers that snapped it?

Hi Gregory,

"...* Warning: No drinking when using power saw equipment!!".

Correct, mate - I think the proper procedure is to drink first, then use
the power saw equipment! :-))

But hey, I've been wrong before.

John Ward

A small piece of Lexan costs $37.08 and you'll likely have to drive to a
distributor. - 45 minutes drive time

Drive to a speciality hardware store for 4 longer, tiny machine screws.
$1.39 - 45 minutes drive time

Disassemble the TIR3, remove broken mounting parts and create a new strain
relief hole. - 20 minutes

Search for the tiny clear acrylic LED lens that fell out on to the floor.
- 30 minutes and 300 pulled hairs

Precisely drill and counter sink 4 holes. - 35 minutes

2.91 hours x $ 75.00/hr. = $ 218.75

Total cost $257.22

I charge $199.00

I'm losing money. :- (

What colors does it come in?

Is there a quantity discount?

OH - and a senior citizen discount?

Do you pay shipping?

30 day money back guarantee?

Hazmat and OSHA certified in case my cat bites it?

Do you have Worker's Compensation coverage and liability coverage in case it
falls over and breaks my monitor?

Is it available on Ebay cheaper?

Inquiring minds want to know.

:)

Negative that Big J.
Saw first, drink later. Measure three times, cut once.

Woodworking isn't for everyone Robert. I didn't see you on the group
list, but if you're not into it by now, you probably won't get started.

In any case, in the States.. find your nearest Woodcraft store..
http://www.woodcraft.com/ or head over to a Sears.

Powertools are relatively cheap these days and widely available.
