I am currently flying a hop list in BC in float planes. All destinations are SPB (Sea Plane Base). Last night I took off from water but the lake at the destination was frozen. Who'd athunk it. I just slid the floats it to a stop on the ice. Will use an amphib to get off that ice pond.
Anyway, the GEX clouds being displayed are pretty nice looking. Flew the Beaver last night, so the last 5 pics are from a dawn departure, just prior to sunrise.

When yer a 24 oz block of foam (inc battery), one is plenty - started off with none, but if there was more than a hint of a breeze, taxiing with the Beaver rudder was mission impossible....
That is a great model!! Love the water drop. Worst thing about lake flying, is a crash can sometimes literally swallow your airplane.
That one is slightly more advanced than my Beav. It was my first trainer eight years ago, with wheels, NO ailerons, only rudder/elevator, which works slightly awkward, but works, and still does. Later it got retired until I was harnessed into getting something flying for our once or twice annual lake fly ins', so I added floats. Take offs on water, with no ailerons to keep the wings level can be a challenge!
