No I haven't tried this one so I thankyou kindly for the link. :-)
I've tried a few other flavours of AI programs all of them I've found to
*very* frustrating.
Maybe I'm just a dumb bum (don't anyone agree with me lol) :-))
So far I haven't got anything to work at all.
My recently installed FSX with the SDK Traffic Tools went pear shaped &
I'm in the process of un-installing etc etc ...
I'll try this one when I've pieced fsx back together again.
Thanks
Bruce
I use it and its ok. Lots of airlines supported. I find though that the
afcad for parking is not so good eg Melbourne and Sydney have dedicated
terminals for qantas, Virgin Blue etc but there aircraft get parked pretty
well anywhere at the airport gates.
Someone may know a way around this.
If I was only flying in Australia the FTX people have really great AI and
its free. Unfortunately, it only works in Oz.
Cheers

Tried it out last night by installing Delta, AA, United, UPS and USAir. Atlanta field
was very active with Delta traffic. Hopped over to Dallas-FW but there wasn't as
much traffic as expected. The DFW terminal in FSX was crude too. I think there's
a KATL scenery installed.
So these AI packs work in ADDITION to the default AI?
I've never done much with AI because of resource constraints. The AI slider is
normally in the 5 - 20% range but cranked to 100% for the above static tests.
There are a LOT of them available: http://www.world-of-ai.com/allpackages.php
They even have Ted. :)) I made a 13-sec Ted video near KIAD before they
went under: http://home.comcast.net/~flightsim/here_comes_TED_again.wmv

WoAI works on the "package" concept that I think was
started by PAI. This has the advantage of not having
to hunt down models and paints (though at times a WoAI
may install a different model of an existing AI you have
already have, resulting in more models than you really need).
WoAI flightplans are in FS9 format. They work in FSX, but
if you install them, the default traffic.bgl won't work
any longer. aside from that, Ms also changed the numbering
of days in the week for flightplans, so FS9 plans will be one
day off in FSX. You can do without the default traffic, or get the
tool AI Flight Planner, which will bulk-update FS9 traffic for
FSX.
A problem with WoAI is that most of their packages were on Avsim,
and it is common now to get a "file not found" when you try
to download one.

So then... will AI Flight Planner bulk-update FS9 traffic AND re-enable
default FSX AI traffic? It would seem so from your wording. I'd not
have much interest in decompiling and editing AI routes/schedules.

Why doesn't Avsim allow for individuals to re-upload their files. There
MUST be some kind of scheme to upload and re-associate with the
previous descriptions.

I don't know. maybe they are unaware of how bad it is. They should
zero the database for FS9 and FSX and the multitudes will re-populate.
I get "OOOOOPS" for most files I try to download.
I just go to flightsim.com and put up with their slow downloads.

They are also on Flightsim. They have two links on their download page,
one for each.
I use WoAI exclusively and like the packages. However, they can cause
stutters in FS9 because, for some strange reason, they are looking for a
non-existent file in the Effects folder, "fx_strobex.fx". The cure is to
make a copy of "fx_strobe.fx" and re-naming it to "fx_strobex.fx" and
adding it to the Effects folder.
I read this on the FS9 forum at Avsim and it certainly worked for me -
virtually eliminated stutters.

Ok.. ran AI Flight Planner which was intuitively easy. It `converted
the four WoAI .bgl files, but I didn't run any Bulk Updates. Ran the
`Validate function and it reported scores if not 100's of
inconsistencies in the default FSX AI file.
So am I good to go now? (all are backed up)

Probably. You should take a look at the AIFP manual to see what the
validation report is telling you. I wouldn't get concerned about the
default fsx trafficAircraft.bgl fle.
