In the FAQ, the author lists the five files that are different between the
original version and the 3DFX version;
Changed
-------
MW2.DLL (707kb)
MW2.PRJ (41.4mb)
MW2SHELL.DLL (531kb)
New
---
mw2.mip (8.33mb)
skygnd.par (4.49kb)
I realize that adds up to almost 50MB, but considering the fact that
people now upload entire DVDs, it's not really that large anymore. Also,
I've seen people create Glide wrappers, unofficial patches and other
add-ons for commercial games that required major programming effort. All
that's required for a MW2 3DFX patch is to zip the above five files from
the 3DFX version of the game and upload them somewhere.
Seems strange that nobody has ever done this.
Would someone who owns the 3DFX version of the game be willing to do this?
The 3dfx edition can work, just simply get some glide wrappers... we
had a solution while back... witha modified windows 95 pentium edition
turned 3dfx...
