It's almost getting to the point where the MAMEDEV team is larger than the
number of people still actively interested in using MAME to play games!

By comparison the MAMEDEV mailing list has roughly 3,430 posts for 2008...
that's about 570 per month or 5.7 times the number of AGM posts...

Either that or people have been happily running all the games they are
interested in for a few years now and have no need to either upgrade or
follow any of the latest developments. I guess it may be telling that the
latest version I have bothered installing is around v0.115... and even that
was primarily for MESS development rather than MAME...

When lob reaches the top 3 posters I'm going to unsubscribe! ;P

Many people who have posted have often asked why upgrade mame??? There
seems to be no clear cut reason especially if all the games you want
are being emulated to your liking.

Indeed, it can often actually be detrimental! Think emulation slow-downs,
ROM re-naming and re-organisation, new bugs and of course loss of high score
saving!

I'm sure some people run multiple versions for that very reason, and to have
the latest games included/improved as well...
