Here's how you can get to see Max: once you walk over the bridge
(right before you get to the passages that lead to the marketplace), a
lady will come running out of one of the passages on the other side and
cross over the bridge. She then runs to the locked door on the other
side. As far as I know, there is no way to get through that door except
to wait for her to open it and slip in behind her. Max is in the living
room of the lady's house.
If you open the door for him, he'll run outside. Sometimes I have
to push him over to the door, though (the furniture in the house seems
to get in his way). If you don't shoot him, he'll sometimes go apeshit
and start shooting at everything that moves (pedestrians included). If
you do shoot him, you'd better run or load a saved game 'cause he's
gonna kick your ass!

I saw the little fella too. However, it's possible to actually control him.
Don't ask me how I did it but whilst trying to move him toward the door
using the activate key (which seems to make him jump) I ended up in control
of him wandering around.
I couldn't get over the bridge outside though because he couldn't seem
to jump whilst under my control and the step was too high.

Most bizaarre

Okay, I give up. How do you get to the dude? (He's behind that locked
door in the room near the river isn't he??

to get to the little bunny feller:

at one point your walking thru a tunnel in the city, as you leave the
tunnel, you can turn right to get to a 'bar' with a bunch of bad guys
fighting. instead of turning right to the bar, walk straight ahead and
walk toward the room with the locked door near the river. as your
walking toward that room, you will hear the sound of its door opening
(it opens before you can see it) ..... run like hell to get around the
corner and in the door, you might have to shove the Lea look-alike out
of the way. You only get one chance at this, miss it and the door
stays locked. You will have to re-start the level to get into the
room. I recommend saving the game before exiting the tunnel.
I dont like letting this guy loose, though..... he shoots all the
civilians!! and if you try to shoot him, he wont die, and will blast
you out of your jedi boots.
have fun!

He did that to me, too. Here's what you have to do. Start over again
(yeah, that sucks) and this time, when you go in the room you'll see Max
on the chair. Don't walk into him, just walk over in front of him and
hit the "use" button on him. He'll hop up and walk over to the door.
Open the door and he'll run outside. He seems to have trouble getting up
the steps on the bridge though...

And that woman that returns? When you first walk out of the tunnel and
the door opens, that is her leaving the building. You can see her
walking over the bridge towards the stores and stuff. If you follow her,
she goes to one of the stores, stands by a counter, then walks back to
the building and goes in again. Yes, I was pretty bored tonight... :)

hmmmmm.... weird, i just kind of ran around the room looking for
secrets.... didnt use the 'activate' key on max... but when i got
ready to leave that room, he was standing by the door, so i opened it
and ran out, he was following me, but way behind. after a while
running around where the shops were, looking for more secret areas, i
noticed that the civilians were starting to disappear... then i
noticed i kept hearing them scream, but i had killed all the
enemies... i got to wonder what was going on, then i saw him... the
blaster carrying little rabbit... shooting the innocent civies! so i
decided i would end his little mass murder spree, and laid a thermal
detonator at his feet (kneel down, look down, and use secondary
fire)..... he just got knocked back a little bit, and came back
blasting, so i brought out the heavy guns.. well light saber actually,
and he just wont die, little furry bastard :)

After you shoo Max out the door by trying to grab him, he will run away from
you. KEEP TRYING TO GRAB HIM! If you catch him, you will get a Max's
perspective view. You can't control him, just yourself, so hit F1 and keep
shooing him toward enemies. He will kill all he sees, but I found if I shoo
him too long, he turns, looks me over for a sec, and then wastes me! Anyway,
try to keep every enemy intact in that area and you can enjoy his perspective
as he runs around wasting dudes. BTW--Can anyone discover a way to control
him--get him to follow you--take him to other levels??
