Cheats 2 Help!! and still Help!!!

something about a short cut to console,, but I have no short cut to the
game,, i go strait to the game via my C:\ and run it. the next thing is that
I do hit the ~ key and still nothing (i have to use the shift key with it)
but sill nothing. and yes,, i been using the quick save,,, dang!!! thought i
was all that too... got my but kicked goog ,,kicked real good!!... i think i
need ah step by step,,, and were do i go for the FAQ's,,, can anyone help
me!!!

If you right click the hl.exe you can then create a shortcut and place
it on your desktop. Right clicking on the shortcut will allow you to add
the - console to the command line.

Well, you'll have to create one, then. In case you don't know how, right-click
on the executable file hl.exe, and select "Create Shortcut". One will appear in
the same folder, which you can drag to your desktop or wherever you want it.
Modify the command line of the shortcut as described previously (add
" -console", with the space).

You don't have to use Shift, it's just the key that you press. Remember: it's
the key to the left of 1, below Esc, above Tab - it doesn't matter what's
written on it. A ~ key anywhere else on your keyboard won't work. None of this
will work if you haven't enabled the Console. You'll know when you have enabled
it, because a "Console" button will appear on the main menu along with those
other buttons you mentioned.
Some or all of this may be wrong. Help me out here, guys, I haven't played the
game in 3 years!

There are one or two situations you can get into with game bugs, that you can't
get out of without loading an earlier save. I think you've probably passed most
of them, but nevertheless it's a very good idea to do a full save from time to
time, say at the start of levels and whenever you complete a difficult section
that you don't want to have to do again.
