Hi Dave,
I went to your website, but I could find the CD key anywhere. Actually, I
think someone doesn't like you as it appears they have "hacked" your site
and left some interesting profanity there for you. Hate to be the bearer
of bad news, but oh well.

Peace,
..Devon

One more thing, you apparently don't understand hacking or internet security,
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ANONYMOUS POSTING, if i wana find someone its just a

Huh? What's he rambling about? I tried running this through the
Babelfish translator, but they don't offer moron-to-English...

Why don't you just spend an extra two hours at your burger-flipping
job and *buy* Half-Life? Why do these "warez d00ds" spend hours and
hours trying to find illegal copies when they could have a legal copy
with 15 minutes of effort and a paltry $20-30? Perhaps my time is
more valuable than theirs--I'd rather be *playing* games than hunting
for them.

Which is exactly what she said. I suspect Iphi's understanding of
security issues is far better than your reading comprehension.

Ahh, he's an asshole as well as a moron. First of all, it'll take you
*hours* to generate a working key. Your time would be better spent
panhandling for nickels in order to buy a copy. Second, if you DO
manage to generate a working key, you're effectively stealing it from
a legal user, who will then have to contact Sierra to get a new key
and have the old one deactivated. That's a real pain in the ass for
the legal user. Do you understand yet why we're weary of dealing with
pricks like you?

lol, kiddo. I was just nicely pointing out that your permanent IP

you replied to it twice.

I could swear I heard John Twernbold say this in alt.games.half-life:

And therefore, your hard earned - I mean generated - key will stop
working, all of a sudden like. Diddums for you, you'll no doubt start
crying and we wouldn't want that, would we?

Seriously do you know where to get HL in Canada? Friend of mine is
looking and all he finds is the over-priced CAN$60 GOTY with OP-For
version.
All he wants is the nice plain vanilla orignal to patch up and play CS.

I often see HL:GotY (no OpFor) for around US$30-35, which is *still*
pretty overpriced for such an old game. It occasionally dips down to
$20-25 (and even down to $10 during a couple of special promotions),
but the Adrenaline Pack (with OpFor) is usually a lot more. If he
just wants CS, the new retail CS/mods package might be a better deal,
although I suspect that will also be overpriced.

Despite my relatively close proximity to Canada :-), I'm not familiar
with retailers there. Have you tried any online stores? I know many
of them also sell to Canadian customers.

What stores? My friend checked Amazon.com and found it for US$30 which
ends up being about CAN$45 with the godawful exchange rate. Best price
we have seen so far but I got mine for CAN$20 last year so hard to
understand how the price goes up the older the game is?

That's seems about right. I agree that it's overpriced--I bought two
copies of HL back when it first came out, and paid US$30 for each. That
was a common sale price back then. It hasn't changed much. :-(

I've seen it on sale for $20-30, but that's usually only once every few
months. And I've only seen it for $10 on two occasions as part of
special promotions.

>but I got mine for CAN$20 last year so hard to

WOW! That's an amazing price--about US$13. I've never seen it that low,
outside of those special promotions I mentioned. And I believe those
copies were being sold below cost to increase business (they call that
a "loss leader", don't the? Hmm, I was definitely not a business major
in college...)

Speaking of the price of HL, I noticed last week that the GotY is now
$30 just about everywhere. And one store (Best Buy, I believe) has it
on sale for $20 this week.
