Any of y'll lurkers who are N42 players of old, we're gonna try and
have a few rounds tonight after 10pm GMT.

Any of you who don't know what I'm talking about take a look at
www.xlii.com, it's CS in a more tactical style, not deathmatchey!

Here's a taster.

What is Network 42 PCS?
Network 42 Professional CounterStrike is a Counter-Strike server
dedicated to playing the game utilizing teamwork, strategy, and
tactics. You will find no deathmatch or stat players here. To us it's
more than just another server, it's a community of like-minded
Counter-Strike enthusiasts, and friends.

Cheers

Benny

Most applications that get rejected are due to really short/non-
descriptive applications. The more you think about your answers the
more likely you are to get approved.

Hmm, it's not cos I live in Northern Ireland then? Don't think I'll bother
re-applying, assuming that's what your suggesting as the quality of my game
would be much lower than normal due to that terrible ping. Besides, I was
thinking an essay on how great I am wouldn't hav been approved either :-)

Loads of UK people apply... just a brief paragraph about the teamwork and
tactics you have and would like to use on a server that doesn't care about
frags!

There are a number of UK and European players who play on N42, so ping has
nowt to do with it. Just don't answer questions on the application in
monosyllabic terms - you don't need to write an essay, but more than a word
or two is what is needed for Apo's apps :)

And if you really get ragged with the lousy ping to North America, then why
not play at MeatHook PCS - the UK PCS server???? From Northern ireland your
ping should be just fine - register for the server, get the password and
come on in - the server usually starts to warm up from 7.30pm each evening
(GMT/BST etc) and the crowd of peeps in there are really good. Register for
the forums as well because they can be really helpful.

We are just about to bring our spinky new server on stream as well - very
fast and lots of lurverly RAM :) You can get all the details you need to
join in the fun from the sig below.

Hell no.. You get brownie points for being Irish.. You may want to
apply anyway and see how the ping it. Network 42 has a TON of bandwidth
on both the UUNET/WorldCOM and Cable & Wireless backbones, so many
people on the other side of the Atlantic still get under 100ms pings.

Yeh, i get 160-180, and I allready play on Meathook, Tealeaf, just not
"that" regularly cos it also pings a wee bit bad atm, but I've read about
all the problems in the forums, so I feel your pain. :-)
