I've only picked up 4 titles for it (GTA, Burnout Paradise City, Mass
Effect, and Bioshock), but out of the bunch Mass Effect is by far the
biggest generator of clicks and clacks from the console. It's been 3 months
since i've fired Bioshock or Paradise City, but i don't remember either
being "noisy". I can safely say GTA is the quietest of the bunch.
OTOH, the goddamn thing generates plenty of noise just turning it on. It
sits near my 4 year old gamer PC, which has 6 fans of assorted sizes running
at all times, and is noisier. How does the PS3 fare in the noise department
?
Kinda quiet lately out here. Been busy myself re-carpeting half the house
this weekend, but i managed to play for a couple hours last night. Still
fiddling with the evil swingset, i managed a 661ft high blast !
Also while on a spree, i hit a car hard enough to set the driver on fire !
The car was never on fire, just a popped tire when the burning person died
next to it. Weird.

I never hear a thing from the PS3 whilst playing GTA:IV?

I'm guessing it's just the DVD drive accessing the disc making the noise. I
certainly hope the hard drive isn't making those ticks and tacks. I've owned
enough Western Digital to know what that usually means. Sony uses the
blu-ray, so it's hard to make a fair comparison i suppose.
I can't imagine it a problem with your XBox. It's probably just the way
some games access the HD and disc.
The swingset is good fun for a time, isn't it?

Just seems odd that a more random, graphically demanding game like GTA runs
a lot quieter than Mass Effect, which has tons of cut scenes and character
conversation trees.
The swingset is an awesome glitch. Wish there were others, i've gotten a bit
bored for now with the current one. I've managed an 850ft vertical height so
far, and about 1900ft distance. While evil, the swingset isn't infinite. The
farthest i can get any car to launch is around Brucie's place, just over the
elevated tracks. I'm starting to think that landing in the water ain't
happening.
