I considered buying a Wii back when I was deciding which game system I wanted, but GTA pulled me
toward the 360 instead (I've since found other reasons to be happy with my choice as well.) From what
I've heard, the Wii doesn't have the graphical power of the 360 and PS3, so a GTA there would feel like a
step back, though the controls might make for a different enough experience to be worth it.

I'll probably buy a Wii someday anyway, and having GTA on it might be fun...

for some reason the idea of battering someone with a baseball bat
using that hand controller sounds a little too close to the real thing
:O)

Don't they have a boxing game for Wii ? Wouldn't be all that different i
suppose.

Hell, they could even turn around the bad reputation that the GTA series has
garnered. Replace Niko with Mario. Replace Roman with Luigi. Use the Wii
wheel for driving, the other controller for beating/shooting. And use the
Wii Fit or those Dance Dance Revolution pad thingys for running.

Instead of hidden packages, hide coins. Don't need planes, ride Yoshi. The
storyline could revolve around Mario and Luigi coming to Liberty City
(renamed Super Mario City for the Wii) to track down a gang leader only
known as Bowser who killed their sister Princess Toadstool during a mushroom
deal gone bad. Along they way, you make new friends and enemies (Zelda,
Donkey kong, Wario.) and business partners while taking over the city.

Rework all the foul language, drugs, prostitution, cop killing, and
glorified death and you would have...uh...another Nintendo approved game.
You could Call it Super Grand Mario Kart Theft Auto.

I won't be surprised if it happens, but i'm guessing it would be the
equivalent of watching Scarface or Goodfellas on network television (here in
the states anyway). Along the same lines, thought i saw another GTA title
headed for a handheld, the DS possibly ?

Actually, no. I've managed to catch maybe 2 or 3 episodes of RC, but not
that one. LOL.

I'm sure Nintendo would like a slice of that pie. GTA4 broke a lot of
entertainment records. But OTOH, Nintendo has always displayed itself as a
family entertainment system. The Wii has saturated markets that video games
have never seen. Old people love them here, and retirement homes have
included them in their activity rosters.

Dunno why, but i imagine GTA for Nintendo coming off real sugary, like that
GTA Coke commercial. I'm curious if any game ever approved by Nintendo
contained any of George Carlin's 7 words you can't say on TV ?

:O) I think it'd be nice to have a more tame version of the games,
one the kids could get involved in without the guilt.

There is - it's called Simpsons Hit & Run.

heh, close but no medal. It is pretty loose, but not quite in the same
ball park as GTA. I enjoyed it for a while though but the kids bored
of it quickly.

That's the one i was thinking of too. Oh well. ;) After that, all i can
think of is Bully. Which from the looks of it, doesn't quite have the scope
of GTA either.

Spore hits the shelves soon. That'll keep the kids going for a while.

Bully is okay, but again they bored of it after a short while. He does
get to ride around on bikes and there's snogging and fighting and all
sorts of high jinks. didn't enjoy the lessons though they were the
bits the kids liked. It isn't awful, but it would never replace GTA in
my affections.

Kids love the lego games!
