Hello!
I've been working with DM Genie on my own for almost four years now. I
was glad I found this site, since it's sad the product seems to be
officially unsupported now and the FAQ-list at
http://www.dmgenie.com
isn't saying much.
I work with more than one computer regularly, (stationary and laptops).
Thus I have more than one DM Genie database that I have a problem with
synchronizing.
Q1: Is there a simple way to make a backup and then restore of a
database? The export command seems to split it up in so many files.
Q2, 3: When I work with a group of PCs on one computer I can export that
group and import it to another computer. Since it's the same PCs that I
change, I get a copy importing them each time.
Is there a way to come around that? I'd like to swap out some files and
always use the latest one.
Which files should I swap? I tried removing the folders with data and
copying in the same from my other installation, but it seems DM Genie
still remembers only the old ones even after a restart. I don't know
what I'm doing wrong? Must be some other files that should be switched
too?
Q4: Any guidelines on how to import the files you provide on this group
site? I'd like to try to import a file into a separate "folder" that I
can easily delete should the extra data clog the program or make it hard
to find the basic stuff.
Q5: Is there some FAQ site elsewhere that can answer these probably
common questions?
Thanks for any help! /Thomas
