Hey, folks. I'm working on a project that will involve a table-top
role-playing game simulation of Doom, and I'd like to locate the sound files
for things like doors, imps, former humans, and the rest of the creatures
and such that make the environment, even the waterfalls and such. I want to
map these to a sound font after doing multiple versions of the ones that can
be heard from a distance with changes in volume and position, so that these
sounds can come from a pair of speakers triggered by a musical keyboard
during a play session to add that element to the game.
Anyone know where I can find the gamut of these files? Any assistance would
be greatly appreciated.

If you have the game, the sounds are inside the file DOOM.WAD (or
DOOM2.WAD) that came with it; you can extract the samples with a program
such as Deutex or SLADE.

If you don't have the game the shareware version is freely available and
still contains most of the sound effects.
